If you’ve been following my blog for a while you know I’m obsessed with statistics! I show them every month. So now I thought I would show some statistics from the whole year!
In the year of 2020 I read 273 books! This is mainly due to the first half of the year, were I was home quite a bit and read a lot! In the second half of the year I started my job, so I had way less reading time! (I know I still read a lot haha!). I just mean to say that I’m not sure if I’m ever able to read such a big amount of books in a year again haha!
So let’s now go into my stats! I know some of the percentages are a bit hard to read..:
Author gender:

Female: 194
Male: 74
Co-authored/non-binary/unknown: 5 (I know this is weird to combine, but otherwise the parts would barely show up..)
No surprise at all that I mostly read books from female authors! I’ve been getting more into adult fantasy, so maybe this will shift more next year!
Targeted audience:

Middle Grade: 37
Young Adult: 152
Adult: 84
Again no surprise haha, YA is my most read! But as I said, slowly getting more into adult works as well!
Genre:

Fantasy: 163
Science-fiction: 20
Contemporary: 25
Romance: 19
Mystery: 11
Thriller: 3
Classics: 4
Fiction: 8
Horror: 11
Non-fiction: 5
Poetry: 4
Of course Fantasy is my most read genre! I hope to read more sci-fi in the next year though! Also more thriller/horror!
Format:

Physical: 106
E-book : 88
Audiobook: 79
I think this is a very nice distinction between the three!
Source

Bought: 52
Gift: 11
Library: 59
Scribd: 55
Storytel: 39
ARC (Netgalley): 39
ARC (Edelweiss): 14
Borrowed: 4
The library in Sweden was my life saver the first half year haha! Definitely made big use of it!
Series/standalone:

Series: 79
Trilogy: 63
Duology: 36
Standalone: 95
I didn’t know I read this ‘many’ duologies! Although for most I probably read both in this year! Also quite surprised by the amount of standalones?! Since Fantasies are often series, but then I did split series and trilogies!
Rating:

2 stars: 34
2.5 stars: 12
3 stars: 67
3.5 stars: 27
4 stars: 72
4.5 stars: 15
5 stars: 45
4-5 stars is as good as half of the chart, so that is very satisfying!
Page count:

0-100 pages: 2
101-200 pages: 38
201-300 pages: 49
301-400 pages: 95
401-500 pages: 49
501-600 pages: 12
601-700 pages: 13
701-800 pages: 5
801+ pages: 10
Not too surprising! I did think I read more 400-500 then I did though.
Release date:

<1900: 3
1900-2000: 27
2001-2015: 20
2016: 10
2017: 22
2018: 23
2019: 65
2020: 99
I guess that’s it! Took me a very long time haha!
