My thoughts:
Once again I’m reminded why I love YA mysteries! Please someone keep reminding me to continue picking them up!
This definitely gave me gossip girl vibes! As in we follow these rich student going to this fancy school, with one of our main characters being less rich. And also they keep getting these text from ‘ace’. But that is also where the comparison stops!
I really liked both main characters! Chiamaka is very confident and unapologetic, and will do whatever it takes to get where she wants to get! Our other main character, Devon, is more of the opposite. Keeps in the background and is more laid back. I really loved when they started to work together, and see their characteristics really fit together!
Both of our main characters are black, and they are both the target of this anonymous texter. So we follow them trying to figure who this person is. Throughout the story we get to meet more people from their lives. And with every person we meet you try to figure out if this person could be the texter, and what their motives would be!
This book deals with quite some heavier topics, like racism, homophobia and white supremacy. It also explores differences on class!
Honestly this book had me guessing none stop, I could not stop listening since I just needed to know who was behind these texts and why! I did lower my rating for the plot a little bit because of the ending, not because it was bad, btu I would have liked it a little bit differently. Not saying it was bad or unrealistic, it was, but idk, guess I just expected/wanted something else.
The writing was amazing, very atmospheric setting. I cannot wait to see what the author will write next!
Great review and I also loved this book (just haven’t been able to write a review for it)! I really enjoyed how the book kept me guessing and the flash forward at the end.
Right?! I couldn’t sto listening since I just needed to know if my guess was correct!
I’m about to pick up this book and even more excited to read it now! 😀
I hope you liked it!

I LOVED that we got to see where the characters would be in the future, I always rate books higher when they do that.
ýes that was indeed a nice addition!
