This was my first full month at of my new study in a new country, and I know idea what to expect about my reading (and everything else haha..)
But I actually read more then that I had expected 🙂 So that makes me happy! And also I did not rate anything below 3 stars, so that’s also nice!
Let’s start with some stats!
I have to say that I’m not surprised at all with these stats! I mainly read shorter books, and almost all woman authors..
And now for the actual books that I read, in the right order:
Challenger deep by Neal Shusterman. Rating: 4.5 star!
I saw this book in the book shop, and started reading it immediately! I was really surprised by this book. I was introduced to Neal Shusterman by Scythe, which is such a different story from this one! I do think this is a really important book! See my full review here!
Aaru by David Meredith. Rating: 3 stars!
The cover of this book gave me the feeling that this would be a more spooky book, but it was not scary at all! I still quite enjoyed this book. It is a sci-fi book with some political discussion!
You can find my full review here!
The copper gauntlet by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare (audiobook). Rating: 3 stars!
This is the second book in the magisterium series. I still enjoyed it but it was not as good as the first book. I really love the magic system, and the audiobooks are really good, so I really enjoy listening to them! Full review is here!
I believe in a thing called love by Maurene Goo Rating: 4 stars!
This is the first book I got out of a library in like forever! I really enjoyed this book, it was a really easy read! When I read it I was really busy, so I really needed this funny and light read! See my complete review here!
The towering sky by Katherine McGee (audiobook). Rating: 4 stars!
I love these audiobooks! They give me gossip girl vibes 🙂 It was really easy to listen to, and I think that the series wrapped up really nicely!
The alloy of law by Brandon Sanderson. Rating: 3.5 stars!
I absolutely love the first Mistborn series, but I have to say that this book was quite disappointing.. It is just that the first 3 books are really good, and this just does not meet the same greatness. It is still a really good book, and I probably would have rated it higher if it was not written by Brandon Sanderson. Full review can be found here!
The foxhole court by Nora Sakavic. Rating: 3.5 stars!
I had this book on my phone for quite a while, and I finally started reading it (while I was waiting at the bank haha). And I did actually not enjoy it as much as I had expected, I just did not really understand the game, which made parts of the story really confusing..
The bronze key by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare (audiobook). Rating: 3 stars!
Since I quite enjoyed the previous books, I just started listening to this one as well. And I do not have much to add.. (Except that my audiobook app deleted the series, so now I can’t continue..). Review will be up soon!
Lumberjanes vol. 7 by Noelle Stevenson. Rating: 5 stars!
I always love Lumberjanes, and I can’t wait to get the 8th volume. That’s all I have to say. Just go and read this series!
Heart of thorns by Bree Barton. Rating: 4 stars!
I was really surprised by this book. I did not have really high expectations for this book, just because I had no idea what it was about! I think the balance between the fantasy/action and romance was really well done! Review will be up soon!
Timekeeper by Tara Sim (audiobook). Rating: 4 stars!
Another surprise read/listen! I again just randomly started listening to this and enjoyed it quite a lot. The concept is so interesting and it is really well executed. Also the romance is really cute! Review will be posted soon!
Ouran High school host club by Bisco Hatori. Rating: 3 stars!
I randomly got this out of the library. I want to read some more manga’s, and this was one of the only ones they had. I did enjoy it, but it was nothing special. I do think I will continue the series!
Northanger abbey by Jane Austen. Rating: 4 stars!
I really enjoyed this one! I think it will be in my top three favourite Jane Austen novels!
The tiger’s daughter by K Arsenault Rivera. Rating: 4 stars!
I got the e-arc for the second book, so I decided it was high time to read the first book.. ! It was (again) really good! It’s more character driven than plot driven (which I normally prefer), but I still really enjoyed it, and kept wanting to continue to read. My review will be up soon!
Sea witch by Sarah Henning (audiobook). Rating: 4.5 stars!
I had a really hard time with the beginning of the book, but once I got into the story I really loved it. I really enjoyed the original twist on the classic story (The little mermaid). There were so many unexpected twist, at least for me, and I love that! And again review will be up soon!
When the scot ties the know by Tessa Dare. Rating: 4.5 stars!
I just needed a light read, and I still had this unread on my ereader, so decided to start! I really love Tessa Dare’s historical romance!
I’m so happy with all the books I read this month, even though there was only one 5 star read, there was nothing below 3 stars!
Come talk to me!
What was your favourite read of the month?
You read so many books, oh wow! I’m in awe ahaha 😆 I love the little images for the statistics!
Haha thank you! Audiobooks really help ☺️
