There are so many authors out there of who the works sounds amazing, but I for some reason still haven’t read it! So I thought I would list some authors here that I really want to read the works from!

- Terry Pratchett – I mean this author is so big within the fantasy genre, but he has written so much, that I don’t really know where to start haha!
- Brent Weeks – I have been interested in reading both his Lightbringer and Night angel series, for quit a while, but all the books are so long haha, so I’m a bit overwhelmed!
- Mark Lawrence – There are so many series of him that I’m interested in reading! When I’m writing this I have books from him out of the library, so I might have read some of his works when this is posted!
- George Orwell – His 1984 and Animal farm are so famous, I feel like I need to read them. But I’m a bit afraid I won’t understand them or something and then feel stupid haha!

- Cinda Williams Chima – Every one seems to love her works! There are just so many books out in the world she created, it feels like a big commitment to start haha!
- Joe Abercrombie – Again, so many of his series sound so interesting, I gues I just have to start somewhere!
- Robert Jackson Bennett – I’ve been interested in reading his city of stairs series for quite a while now, and recently I keep seeing amazing things about Foundryside, so I feel like I really should pick something up by him ASAP!

- Tamora Pierce – Another big author within the fantasy series! And again she has written so much, feels like a big commitment to start!
- Ruth Ware – Lately I’ve been more and more interested in the mystery genre, and I feel like Ruth Ware’s work has some amazing reviews! So I’m very interested to check out her works!
- Donna Tart – Her books get a lot of amazing reviews, so I’m just interested in seeing what I will think of her works!
Most of these authors are fantasy authors ahah! I tried to add some other genre authors as well, but fantasy is still my favourite genre, so guess it makes sense!
I have a lot of these on my TBR too and totally relate to the ‘omg where do I start’ feeling for some of them. Especially Terry Pratchett & Tamora Pierce – they both have so many books and seem to be such popular authors. I think Mark Lawrence’s Red Sister books are the ones I’m most desperate to get to though.
Haha exactly, and that’s why I keep putting them off!
I’ve actually read Red sister by now, and enjoyed it 🙂
Interesting mix of authors! I love Pratchett but I also know his style doesn’t work for everyone, hope you love his work. I’d actually suggest starting with one of the later discworld books when he got into the groove more. The Night Watch arc is a good place to dive in. 🙂
Yeah I have heard that before! But I’m still very curious if it works for me! Thanks for the tip, will keep it in mind 🙂
Half a King is on my list to read! Great list!
I really hope we both love it!
Ahh yes, The Secret History is on my TBR as well, I’m curious to see what all the hype is about 🙂
Same reason for me haha!
Ruth Ware and Donna Tartt are two authors I’d really like to try, too! I think George Orwell can seem quite intimidating because his work has become so famous, but 1984 and Animal Farm are both very readable – if you’re a little nervous I’d recommend starting with Animal Farm because it’s quite short. =)
Robert Jackson Bennett’s work is amazing! I read Foundryside, City of Stairs and City of Blades last year and loved them all. I highly recommend the audiobook of Red Sister if you’re interested in that series – the narrator, Helen Duff, is fantastic.
I hope you will enjoy both of those!
Yeah animal farm sounds quite doable haha! Guess I should just get from the library sometime soon!
So happy to hear you enjoy Rober Jackson Bennett!
I just picked up Red sister physically, but maybe I will listen along with the audio if it is good 🙂
*whispers* Start Terry Pratchett at Mort. The Death Trilogy is the beeeest.
I really need to read Robert Jackson Bennett, too! And I should be reading my first Mark Lawrence this year, so I’m excited about that. I hope you love these authors when you get to them!
Thanks for the tip! I will hopefully try it out soon haha!
His works sounds amazing!
I just picked up Red sister, and I’m already really loving it! Hope you will read some of his works later this year 🙂
Tamora Pierce has a lot, but her books are really short, I bet you could easily get through a whole quartet in a week. I also need to read Joe Abercrombie! I love Robert Jackson Bennet, Foundryside and the City of Stairs trilogy are very different from each other but both are so good!!
Ooh good to hear, guess I just have to start haha
Both those series sound so good, can’t wait to pick them up!
I’m determined to try Ruth Ware this year.
I hope we both end up loving her work!
Brandon Sanderson! I’ve heard so much about his work but i haven’t picked any up yet.
Ooh I definitely recommend his work! What I’ve read I have loved (mistborn, warbreaker and way of kings)! But there is still many to go!
I started reading Terry Pratchett last year and I really fell in love with his writing style. I started with Mort and it was so good. HIs discworld series you can read a few ways. You can read it as published, but you can also read just the series within series depending on your interest too. Makes it less overwhelming in my opinion.
I liked Animal Farm a lot better than 1984, but that might be because I read it with someone else.
Ruth Ware is one of my auto buy authors. Her work has gotten better the more she has written, but I still enjoy her first novels as well.
I hope you get around to trying all these authors you want to give a go, this is a great list of authors.

Haha yeah maybe that will help! I’m mainly interested in his discworld series!
Personally I think I will like Animal farm better than 1984 as well, but still want to read both:)
Ooh that is good to hear! I’ve ehard so many great things about all her books!
I really want to read some stuff from Jay Kristoff and I haven’t read “The Lord of the Rings” or “The Hobbit.”
Oh I really love Jay Kristoff’s work! I still have to read Stormdancer by him, but enjoyed everything else I read by him 🙂
