I thought I would list some authors that I want to read, but I want to read their backlist first. So for some of these authors I still have quite some books to go!

- John Gwynne – so far I’ve read the first two books in the Faithfull and the Fallen series!
- Joe Abercrombie – I just read the first book in the First Law series.
- Adrian Tchaikovsky – I started with his newest release (at that moment) and decided to go back, so far I’ve read 7 of his books! But he has so many more.
- Michael J Sullivan – So far I’ve read the first 2 books in the Legends of the First Empire series, but I also really want to read the Theft of Swords series!
- Peter V Brett – I haven’t read any of his works yet, but I think he has quite some backlist
- Raymond E Feist – If I’m correct, diving into his world will also take me a while, but I’m excited!
- Steven Erikson – Not sure if this counts as backlist, since it is just mainly his Malazan series, but I want to try it out!
- Fredrik Backman – I recently read Anxious People, and loved it, so I want to read more of his works!

I realize these are almost all adult fantasy series/authors haha! But that is just really what I want to read at the moment!
Anxious People is a great book, I agree. I cheated with John Gwynne… I went straight to The Shadow of the Gods. And now I’m obsessed with his writing and characters. 🙂 I need to go back and read the Faithfull and the Fallen.
I’m definitely reading the First Law book by Joe Abercrombie this year! Hopefully the whole trilogy.
Happy reading, Evelyn.
I was really doubting about going straight into Shadow of the Gods as well, that cover! But now I´m waiting until I´m that far into his works!
I want to read Melissa Caruso and Adrian Tchaikovsky! And more of John Gwynne’s first work, I’ve only read his new Viking series.
I hopeyou wil enjoy those!
I want to read more Adrian Tchaikovsky too! I’ve read and loved two novellas so far, and I have the two Children of Time books on my shelf, but of course there are so many older books to read as well!
Children of Time is really good!
Good luck getting caught up with all of these. I think I have books by most of them on my tbr too. I’d love to catch up with Silvia Moreno-Garcia’s blacklist as I adored Mexican Gothic & have seen good things about some of her other books too. Ooh & Trudi Canavan. I haven’t read anything by her yet but I know I have several of her series on my tbr.
Thanks!
Ooh I read so many Silvia Moreno-Garcia last year, loved most of them!
I own a book of Trudi Canavan, should pick it up haha! (also haven;t read any of hers!)
Thats wonderful to hear. Oh well let me know when you do. I’d love to know how you find it.
Hope you have a great time reading the books by these authors~ As for me, Nadia Shireen, Anna Fienberg, Lindsay Currie are on my list of authors. I probably have more, but haha, I keep forgetting to make a list . Plus, I want to get up to date with Jen Minkman’s books.
Oh i;m going to look those up!
I’ve read John Gwynne’s Bloodsworn saga and can’t recommend him enough. He’s got a serious way with words. Michael J Sullivan’s writing is like popcorn. Once you start, you can’t stop! He’s so entertaining.
I’m so excited for those, those covers are amazing!
Yeah I already noticed that with Age of Myth, I flew through that one!
