Backlist Blast: Cinder!

About the meme:

Blacklist blast is created by Milana from A couple reads and Flavia from Flavia the bibliophile! It is meant to talk about blacklist books, books that were published 6 months ago or earlier. This to remind ourselves why we wanted to read the book in the first place, or to share our feelings towards an old(er) favourite.

Title: Cinder.
Author: Marissa Meyer.
Series: The lunar chronicles #1.
Genre: YA, fantasy, science-fiction.
Release day: January 3rd 2012.

Summary:

A forbidden romance.

A deadly plague.

Earth’s fate hinges on one girl . . .

CINDER
, a gifted mechanic in New Beijing, is also a cyborg. She’s reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s sudden illness. But when her life becomes entwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she finds herself at the centre of a violent struggle between the desires of an evil queen – and a dangerous temptation.

Cinder is caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal. Now she must uncover secrets about her mysterious past in order to protect Earth’s future.

This is not the fairytale you remember. But it’s one you won’t forget.

Why I choose this book:

Most probably everyone has already read this series! But I found myself thinking about this one recently. I saw the series on someone’s blog (don’t remember where), and I just read her newer book Renegades. Right now I really want to reread this series, but I want to do it on audio, and my audiobook apps don’t have it..

I absolutely fell in love with this series when I picked it up years ago! It was so original, I loved the story and the characters. And I would love to read about them again!

  1. I really enjoyed this series and also want to re-read it sometime as I honestly can’t remember it as well as I’d like to.

  2. Love this idea and the series you chose! I absolutely adore the Lunar Chronicles, the crew is so precious and it’s probably one of the funniest series I have ever read! I’ve wanted to read Renegades for some time now (actually just did a First Lines Friday featuring it and I’m really loving the start) and so I hope I get to read that soon! I’m hoping to be just as flashed by it as by Cinder, but you know, it’s bad to have too high expectations, so I got to slow down on my enthusiasm haha! Great post tho

    1. Yeah i loved the lunar chronicals!
Actually i think my expectations for Renegades were a bit too high
