Backlist Blast – Miss peregrine’s home for peculiar children

About the meme:

Blacklist blast is created by Milana from A couple reads and Flavia from Flavia the bibliophile! It is meant to talk about blacklist books, books that were published 6 months ago or earlier. This to remind ourselves why we wanted to read the book in the first place, or to share our feelings towards an old(er) favourite.

Title: Miss peregrine’s home for peculiar children
Author: Ransom Riggs
Genre: YA paranormal, fantasy
Release day: June 7th 2011

Summary:

A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs. It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow-impossible though it seems-they may still be alive. A spine-tingling fantasy illustrated with haunting vintage photography, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children will delight adults, teens, and anyone who relishes an adventure in the shadows.

Why I choose this book:

I know many people have read this series by now, but if you haven’t, please do! I love this series so much! It is actually kinda outside of my comfort zone, so it was a really nice surprise when I ended up loving it so much  🙂 I recently bought the newest addition to this series, but I have not read it yet. For some reason I cannot make myself do it haha, I’m afraid it won’t be as good as the first three books. Also I kinda want to reread before.
