About the meme:
Blacklist blast is created by Milana from A couple reads and Flavia from Flavia the bibliophile! It is meant to talk about blacklist books, books that were published 6 months ago or earlier. This to remind ourselves why we wanted to read the book in the first place, or to share our feelings towards an old(er) favourite.
For this weeks Backlist I choose a book I read around 8 years ago! But I still feel my love towards this book, and I probably should reread it soon!
Title: the Alchemyst
Author: Michael Scott
Genre: Fantasy, YA
Release day: may 22nd 2007
Summary:
Nicholas Flamel was born in Paris on 28 September 1330. Nearly seven hundred years later, he is acknowledged as the greatest Alchemyst of his day. It is said that he discovered the secret of eternal life. The records show that he died in 1418. But his tomb is empty and Nicholas Flamel lives. The secret of eternal life is hidden within the book he protects – the Book of Abraham the Mage. It’s the most powerful book that has ever existed. In the wrong hands, it will destroy the world. And that’s exactly what Dr. John Dee plans to do when he steals it. Humankind won’t know what’s happening until it’s too late. And if the prophecy is right, Sophie and Josh Newman are the only ones with the power to save the world as we know it. Sometimes legends are true. And Sophie and Josh Newman are about to find themselves in the middle of the greatest legend of all time.
Why I choose this book:
As I already mentioned, I still feel my love for this book, and the rest of this series, after all those years. I think more people should read it because, especially the first book, it is such an original and well developed story! I really should reread soon, and then in English, to see how much I still like it!
