This past weekend I participated in the Basically readathon, hosted by @Basically Britt on YouTube. I thought it would be fun to share how this 24h readathon went!
It took place from Saturday March 13th 12pm to Sunday March 14th 12pm Amsterdam time!
The prompt for this readathon was to read the oldest book from your shelves. I decided to totally ignore this by trying to read A Court of Silver Flames! Which was one of the newest additions to my shelves haha!

Preparation
Since this readathon started at noon I tried to do a lot of other things I needed to do before that time, so I could get the most out of the 24h!
So I started my morning with a workout, showered, ate breakfast. I then read some blog posts from other bloggers, and vacuumed! I knew I had to clean and I can’t listen to my book while vacuuming haha! So I left the other cleaning tasks for later :p
24h readathon
12pm: Started right at noon by putting my phone in zen mode for 40 minutes! Immediately read 74 pages! It really helped that I already know this world and characters!
1pm: Decided to continue my cleaning while listening to the audiobook! Managed to listen to another 46 pages, so up to page 124! Then took a little lunch and booktube break!
2pm: Another 79 pages! Reached to 200 page mark! This book reads so quickly 🙂 Wasn’t sure what I would think about this book, but so far I’m really enjoying Nesta’s POV!
3pm: Another 67 pages! Went out for a little walk while listening to the book, needed some fresh air 🙂 Made it to the second part (page 271)! So time for a little break`.
4pm: Watched an episode of Outlander, while working on my diamond painting!
5pm: Enjoyed my diamond painting so much that I continued while listening to the audiobook. Managed another 54 pages!

6pm: Wanted to do some more physical reading before dinner, so settled down on the couch with a cup of tea and read another 70 pages, but now I really need another break!
7pm: Dinner break!
8-10pm: Kinda lost time here haha, at some point I continued with my diamond painting (new obsession!) and listened to the book! Made it to page 513 (part 3!)
10pm: I bit outdone myself with the reading for today haha, read a little bit more in bed, but mainly watched booktube! Made it to page 540 before I fell asleep!
Once I woke up I didn’t really track the time and how far I got up to haha!
8am: Not sure when exactly I woke up, but I read another 30 pages, before leaving my bed!
9am: Somewhere here I went for a run, but I did listen to my audiobook while getting ready and when I got back!
10am-12pm: Switched between reading and listening while eating breakfast etc! Managed to finish the book with 2 minutes to spare!
Wrap up
I’m very happy I managed to read this entire book in 24 hours! I think this was the perfect book to read during a 24h readathon, since it is a sequel, so I was already familiar with the characters and the world. And besides this book is very fast-paced, and the writing reads very quickly!
Main conclusion is that I had a really good day, it was exactly what I needed!
Sounds like an amazing day of reading. I’m glad you had fun with that readathon!
It was 🙂
The days of 24 hr marathons are long behind me now, I just don’t think my life would be able to hold together, lol! But they do sound very fun!
Haha, I can imagine!
A 24h readathon sounds like so much fun!! I’ve always wanted to do one of those, great job with this one! <3

Thanks 🙂
I’ve never taken part in a readathon – I don’t think I’d be able to cut myself off from everything else in order to concentrate. Well done.
Lynn 😀
Haha, luckily this weekend it was exactly what I needed!
Amazing! So glad you finally managed to read this one and the fact you managed it in 24 hours is incredible!
I surprised myself as well haha!
