This month I will be participating in Believathon hosted by Gavin @How to Train Your Gavin, and it is all about reading Middle Grades! Everyone should watch the announcement video since he put in so much effort and it looks amazing!
During this readathon we have to solve the mystery of the missing Maleficarum, we do this by collection clues (13 in total). I’m planning to read a different book for each ‘clue’, but of course you can double up:
Believathon TBR:
Clue 1 – The Key (read a mystery): The Haunting of Peligan City by Sophie Green
Clue 2 – The Fingerprints (Author from a different culture): The Serpent’s Secret by Sayantani DasGupta (audio)
Clue 3 – The Scream (listen to an audiobook or read out loud): The Tower of Nero by Rick Riordan (will listen to this if the audiobook is available to me, otherwise I will listen to a sequel of one of the other audiobooks I will listen to this month!)

Clue 4 – The Torn Pages (A book with a supernatural element): A Sprinkle of Sorcery by Michelle Harrison
Clue 5 – The Crown (Set in an alternate world): Nightfall by Shannon Messenger
Clue 6 – The Spilled Ink (Read a book with ghosts): Ghost Squad by Claribel A Ortega (audio)

Clue 7 – The Dagger (A book with a dangerous setting): Cogheart by Peter Bunzl
Clue 8 – The Backpack (new-to-you author): Brightstorm by Vashti Hardy
Clue 9 – The Footprints (A book with a prominent villain): Hollowpox by Jessica Townsend

Clue 10 – The Hand Mirror (A book with a beautiful cover): Matilda by Roald Dahl
Clue 11 – The Chain (A book with a colourful cast of friends): Pages & Co by Anna James (audio)
Clue 12 – The Flash of Lightning (A book with folktales): Gargantis by Thomas Taylor (audio)
Clue 13 – The Shadow (A book published in 2020): Maya and the Rising Dark by Rena Barron

So many Middle Grades, but I’m so excited for all of them! But there are some other books I also really hope to read:

- The Poppy War and The Dragon Republic by RF Kuang – I really want to reread these two!
- The Burning God by RF Kuang – I want to pick this one up as soon as it releases!
- Chosen by Jean Lee – ARC to read!
- The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden – There is a readalong going on for this series and I would like to participate, but it will be a reread!
- Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson – Another readalong, but I also really need to pick this one up!
- Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor – And another readalong, I would love to reread this one, but if I don’t get to this one it will be fine haha..

This sounds like a fun reading challenge, hope you enjoy it~!
