I think this will be my last 2019 wrap up post!
Today I taught I would talk about the books I didn’t finish in 2019!
So let’s just dive right in, I will give some short thoughts on why I didn’t if I can still remember (if I have a review, it is linked!):

- Bursts of fire by Susan Forest – I read 125 pages, I just really couldn’t get into this book!
- Ever alice by HJ Ramsay – read 60% I was just not enjoying this at all.
- Ninth house by Leigh Bardugo – 200 pages! I’m so sad about this one, but I was just not connecting with the story.
- The outside by Ada Hoffmann – Too confusing!
- Pickwick papers by Charles Dickens – Just too boring.. I have enjoyed much of his work though!
- The princess and the fangirl by Ashley Poston – 50 pages! I really didn’t like the narrator of the audiobook, so maybe that’s why I didn’t like it.
- A hero born by Jin Yong – 30%! This one sounded very good, but I couldn’t get into the story.
- Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell – 200 pages! Unpopular opinion?! I can definitely see why people love this one, I think I should have read it earlier in my life. But now I was just bored, and didn’t care for the romance..
- The thief knot by Kate Milford – I just could not get through this book, I kept putting it down.

That’s not too bad! I have yet to ‘officially’ DNF a book because I always say I’ll put it down and come back to it later. LOL I really need to get better at DNFing.
It is hard though haha!
I will definitely DNF a book if it’s not capturing my attention or if I just don’t like it. And this just goes to show that all readers have different tastes, because I loved Fangirl and Ninth House! I DNFd a few books last year, including a few ARCs that were just too poorly formatted for me to be able to get through. Oh well! I’d rather DNF than spend time on a book I’m not enjoying.
I really need to get better at it!
Haha it does! Luckily you did love them 🙂
That last one is exactly why I want to DNF books if I’m not enjoying them! ‘waste of time’
The only book I DNF’d last year was Fangirl too. I think I was about slightly over 100 pages in. I dont know what it was but I just didn’t connect and wasn’t a fan of Wren. There’s were just heaps of other books I wanted to get to instead.
Same! I just couldn’t connect with it!
I rarely dnf a book, but it does happen once in awhile. I can’t remember what the last one was.
Yeah I’ve started to do it more last year..
I didn’t like Ever Alice either! I am getting used to Dnfing because sometimes its hard, ha.
Yeah I’m slowly getting into that as well. But every time I’m thinking ‘what if it gets better later’
