Can’t wait wednesday – All the bad apples

About the meme!

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to discuss the books we’re excited about that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. If you’re continuing with WOW, feel free to link those up as well! Find out more here.

Title: All the bad apples.

Author: Moïra Fowley-Doyle.

Genre: YA, contemporary, mystery.

Release date: August 1st 2019.

Summary:

The day after the funeral all our mourning clothes hung out on the line like sleeping bats. ‘This will be really embarrassing,’ I kept saying to my family, ‘when she shows up at the door in a week or two.’

When Deena’s wild and mysterious sister Mandy disappears – presumed dead – her family are heartbroken. But Mandy has always been troubled. It’s just another bad thing to happen to Deena’s family. Only Deena refuses to believe it’s true.

And then the letters start arriving. Letters from Mandy, claiming that their family’s blighted history is not just bad luck or bad decisions – but a curse, handed down through the generations. Mandy has gone in search of the curse’s roots, and now Deena must find her. What they find will heal their family’s rotten past – or rip it apart forever.

Why I’m excited:

I absolutely loved her previous release, Spellbook of the lost and found (review here!), and I just need more of her writing! Also that summary sound so intriguing!

  1. This sounds super cool! I wonder if it is related to Snow White at all because of the apples? It sounds like it could be a curse retelling <3

    1. Didn’t think about that! But definitely possible, would be really interesting!
