I probably have done a post like this before. But I just want to share my favourite series with you!
There are quite some series that I consider a favourite, but not all the books in the series have released yet. So they are favourites for now, but of course that can change when more books in the series release!
So let’s start:

- The witchlands by Susan Dennard! 3 out of 5 books have been released. I believe the fourth one will release this year and I can’t wait. This world is so interesting, and I love learning about all the different magic that exists. Also her writing is amazing! (Reviews: Truthwitch, windwitch, sightwitch, bloodwitch)
- Arc of a Scythe by Neal Shusterman! The conclusion has just been released, and I just love this world! Again I loved learning about this world, and the writing is amazing! (Review: Scythe, Thunderhead, The toll)
- The poppy war by RF Kuang! 2 out of 3 books have been released. It will be a long wait for the last book to release at the end of this year. But I believe it will be worth the wait. I can’t wait to see how all this political problems will be solved! (Review: the poppy war)

- Shadow of the fox by Julie Kagawa! 2 out of 3 has been released. I’ve always been a fan of Kagawa’s work, and this series is just her best so far in my opinion! (Review: Shadow of the fox, Soul of the sword)
- The last magician by Lisa Maxwell! 2 out of 3 has been released. Another one where I can’t wait for the conclusion. But I’m sure it will be worth the wait! (Review: The last magician, The devil’s thief)
- Wayward children by Seanan McGuire! There are 5 books out now, and I hope there will be more! I just read the fifth book, and it was amazing (review coming!) I really really hope she will release more books in this world! (Review: In an absent dream)

- Villains by VE Schwab! I think there will be a third book, but nothing is known about that one yet. The second book contains my favourite villain, so I would love to see more from her in a third book! Schwab’s writing is amazing, especially in this book. Also the story is so interesting, and I love that all of the characters are morally gray.(Review: Vicious, Vengeful)
- The nevernight chronicles by Jay Kristoff! I finished reading this one last year, and it was fantastic! I can’t wait for his next series.
- Illuminae by Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman! This series started my love for sci-fi, and I will be forever grateful! (Still need to read more sci-fi though)
- Shades of magic by VE Schwab! Another Schwab! So far I’ve only not loved one of her works, so I think she will be on my favourites list for a long time!
I could have put way more books on here, but I wanted to stick to 10 books. So I only put series on here that have at least two books. I also tried to not mention the ‘obvious’ ones (like Harry Potter and mistborn)
Yes!! I love Illuminae as a series. Gemina is my favourite of the series
I think Gemina is mine as well 🙂
These are all series that is love to get read this year. They all sound absolutely fantastic. And I can’t wait for Jay Kristoffs next series either, it sounds amazing!!
I hope you will like all iof them if you pick them up!
I think we have some overlap, I’m also really fond of The Poppy War. One of my recent faves is the Swords and Fire series by Melissa Caruso, really loved that one.
Ooh I’ve never heard of that one! I should look it up!
Vicious is definitely one of my favorite, along with Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Winternight Trilogy, and The Infernal Devices! 😀 I think ADSOM was okay, but I loooove the second and third book so it’s somewhere on top, but not like, my all time favorite series 🙂
Ooh winternight is also very high on my list!
Great list! I’ve read a couple of these, but so many are on my TBR.
I hope you end up loving them if/when you read them!
Scythe, Shadow of the Fox, and Poppy War are among some of my favorite series reads of the last year! I’ve bought the first two Truthwitch books but haven’t read them yet, looking forward to it!
Ooh I hope you love them!
You named some of my favs. I”m about halfway through Thunderhead now, I’m waiting for the next book in The Last Magician series, and I sooo hope there will be another book in the Schwab series. Happy Friday, Evelyn!
Ooh I hope you love it!
