The rules (they are inspired by Shanah from Bionic Book Worm’s version!):
- Read first chapter (or chapters if they are short)
- Give my ‘first impression’
- Predict my rating
- After finishing it, compare the results 🙂 (If I started a book but not finished it yet, it will be included in the next post).
I know I’ve still read quite some books these two weeks, just less than I’m used to. I’m kinda in a reading slump, which for me is a new thing. But I just don’t feel like reading or listening to books. Just feel like watching series, which I’ve not done in quite a while.

Shadows of self – Brandon Sanderson:
First impressions:
Somewhere I heard this book would follow different characters than book 4, which is not true, so that disappointed me a bit.. We already get some background information an action in the way I know from Sanderson in the prologue and chapter one. So that started of great. I think I will like it better than book four since I have lowered my expectations. I will guess a 4 star rating for this book!
After reading:
Meh still not as good as the first three books. I ended up giving this book 3.5 stars, so I was close with my guess. I’m still just getting used to the mystery solving in this part of the series. It is really good though! My only problem is that I liked the first story line better.
A little princess – Frances Hodgson Burnett (audio):
First impressions:
The start of this book is really cute! I’m not really sure what direction this book will take. But I think this is a nice and ‘easy’ read, just what I need right now. I will predict another 4 star read.

This was a really cute read, and I did end up rating this book 4 star! I actually don’t have so many thoughts about this book. It was just cute and now I can cross of another classic!
Outrun the wind – Elizabeth Tammi:
First impressions:
I always forget what the arcs that I request on NetGalley are about.. But this one contains Greek gods! I’m a happy person right now, I really love Greek mythology! The start of this book is really strong and I really enjoyed it. So far I would predict a 5 star read!
After reading:
I ended up giving this book 4 stars. Mainly because the middle part was a bit weak. It had less action, and I think it have been described in a way that it would have sounded more action packed! I will post my review near release date!

Shadow of the fox – Julie Kagawa(audio):
First impressions:
So far it’s really confusing.. but I know I love Julie Kagawa, and the story is based on Japanese mythology so it’s bound to be fantastic. But since I’m struggling right now I will predict a 4 star rating!
After reading:
Okay when I was more into the book I realized that the first chapter was more like a prologue, the ‘real’ story started more after chapter 2. I ended up giving this book 4.5 stars, so higher than that I had predicted. I absolutely love Julie Kagawa’s writing, I’ve really enjoyed all the books I’ve read from her so far. And I can’t wait to read more from her!
Sleeping giants – Sylvain Neuvel (audio):
First impressions:
This is so interesting! The start reminds me of Illuminae, in the way that it is set up with the interviews and diary entries. Also as soon as I started I didn’t want to stop, even though I did feel a bit slumpy..
I’m going to be really original for this post and predict 4/5 star rating.
After reading:
5 stars! I absolutely loved this book, the concept was so interesting! And after that epilogue, I cannot wait to start listening to waking gods ASAP! All the characters were really interesting, and I love how they all have flaws. Also the interviewer.. I need to know more about him, he is so mysterious.
Come talk to me!
