First impressions:
Holy crap! This book starts of fantastic! I loved it from the first page, if this will not be a 5 star read then this book has to change drastically. I actually have no previous experience with Kiersten White, but I’m absolutely sure I will love her writing!
After reading:
Okay.. I ended up rating this book 3 stars.. The book started off great, and I expected it to improve over time, but it stayed at the same level the whole time. And it kinda bore me.. In my opinion there should have been more action. I kept having to force myself to pick the book back up, just so that I could finish It and start my next read. I do think I will try the sequel, just to see if it will contain more action 🙂
What if it’s us – Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera (audio):
First impressions:
I’m just really excited for this book! I love Becky Albertalli and have hear great things about Adam Silvera, even though I’m not really interested in his work. So I would say this book will be great! The premises sound really interesting, the first to chapters are intriguing! I would guess a 4 star raring!
After reading:
Another disappointment.. Ended up rating this book 3 stars. Which is not necessarily bad, but I just expected more.. The thing is the book went exactly how I thought it would, and I wanted to be surprised by a plot twist, or the story would go a different direction than that I thought. But it didn’t, so I was kind a bored by it..
Lair of dreams – Libba Bray:
First impressions:
I’m really happy to go back into this world, with these characters! I really like the start of this book! New problems in this world, and I’m guessing we will find out about new diviner power things! I think I will rate this 4 stars!
After reading:
I’m just not having it I guess, another 3 star read.. This book was just a bit too long in my opinion. But the main reason for this rating is the amount of characters and perspective, I was so confused a lot of the time. I did really like the new powers, and some of the new characters. Also the big ongoing problem in the world, was interesting, but they did not do to much with it, I think it will come back in the sequel!
A very large expense of sea – Tahereh Mafi (audio):
First impressions:
Okay so I’m not a fan of her Shatter me series, I’ve only read the first book and can barely remember anything, so I was not really interested in any of her works. But this book sounded really interesting, and also I think this is an important story. I enjoyed the start, but it was different than that I had expected. I do think I will really enjoy it, probably rate it 4 stars!
After reading:
Yes, finally I’m correct! I did give this book 4 stars! I enjoyed listening to this, but I did not love it, so I gave it 4 stars. This book really gave me a new perspective on High School life if you’re not the ‘normal’ blank girl. I’m now definitely more interested in more work of Tahereh Mafi.
Wind and Glass, Fire and Sea – Quoleena Sbrocca (arc):
First impressions:
Eeh really slow start.. Nothing has really happened so far haha. I have no idea where this story is going. Which makes this prediction really hard.. I guess I will just go for save and predict a 3 star rating.
After reading:
So almost halfway through the book I realized this was a bind up of the whole trilogy, so I was already almost done with the second book.. Which means not enough happened in the first book for me to realize it was a book on it’s own.. After the second book I decided to stop, and rated it 1 star. I was bored, didn’t like the characters and didn’t care about what was going to happen.
Dry – Neal Shusterman and Jarrod Shusterman (audio):
First impressions:
Aah yes I loved the beginning! I like that the ‘action’ starts immediately! I like the characters so far! To be honest, I wrote this when I was already a little bit farther into the book, there are some parts that are a bit confusing on audiobook, I’m pretty sure it will make more sense if you read the book physical! I predict a 4 star read!
After reading:
Yess! 5 stars! I absolutely loved this book! Made me feel really thirsty though! This book felt really real, all peoples reaction to what was happening felt so real, that this book was just scary! But maybe I’ve learnt something for when this will happen in real life haha (I will cry if this happens, or better not, don’t waste water!)
