So this time I decided to go with Royal assassin, book 2 in the farseer trilogy. You can see my review for book one here!

Title: Royal assassin.
Author: Robin Hobb.
Format: Paperback from the library.
Genre: High Fantasy.
Before reading:
This is of course a second book in a series so it is easier to form opinions. I enjoyed book one but I was so confused most of the time.. Maybe it is because I was reading it for a readathon, so I didn’t spend the appropriate time on the book that it needed. I hope I remember enough from book one to understand and enjoy this one 🙂
First impressions (after 4 chapers, ±100 pages):
Oops I forgot to write this sooner.. But since this book is so long I don´t think it matters. And honestly, nothing has really happened so far..
I absolutely love Robin Hobb for recapping book one in the prologue! This makes my life and reading experience so much easier!
I´m enjoying the writing and the world way more than that I remember from book one. I will predict a 4 star rating for this, since I´m afraid that later it will become confusing again (like book one).

Final thoughts:
I ended up rating this book 3.5 stars, so not that far off but unfortunately lower. I really enjoyed the overall story, but there were so many parts that were so slow and felt a bit unnecessary.. Also there were not really that many action scenes, which I kinda did expect?! I’m really curious if all her books are like this or if some of the other series have more action, maybe even the next book! I will definitely continue in the series but I need a little break before the next 800 page beast!
Come talk to me!
Have you read this book? What did you think?
Her books are definitely, *definitely* less action-oriented than most other fantasy series. The third book is the slowest of the first trilogy imo, so a break might be a good idea. And I think you might like the Liveship Traders books more than the Fitz ones! They have more (pirating) action! 😀
Ooh thanks for the advice!!
