What is it about? (Summary from GoodReads)
After the battle with Katharine, the rebellion lies in tatters. Jules’s legion curse has been unbound, leaving her out of her mind and unfit to rule. Arsinoe must find a cure, even as the responsibility of stopping the ravaging mist rests heavy on her shoulders, and her shoulders alone. Mirabella has disappeared.
Queen Katharine’s rule over Fennbirn remains intact—for now. But her attack on the rebellion exacted a high price: her beloved Pietyr. Without him, who can she rely upon when Mirabella arrives, seemingly under a banner of truce? As oldest and youngest circle each other, and Katharine begins to yearn for the closeness that Mirabella and Arsinoe share, the dead queens hiss caution—Mirabella is not to be trusted.
In this conclusion to the Three Dark Crowns series, three dark sisters will rise to fight as the secrets of Fennbirn’s history are laid bare. Allegiances will shift. Bonds will be tested, and some broken forever.
The fate of the island lies in the hands of its queens.

My thoughts:
I know this is going to be quite a short review, but it is hard to write a review for the fourth book in a series without spoiling things!
I really liked this conclusion! I think my ratings have been slowly going up throughout this series!
I still really love all the queens, especially because they are really stand apart from each other. And I love that even though everything that has happened and the fact that they are supposed to kill each other, they still care for each other since they are family!
I also really liked that the atmosphere in these books, and especially this one, is getting so dark! With the curses, the mist and the dead queens, it was just really dark and I really liked it!
The plot of this book, and basically the whole series, really took some different directions then that I had expected! There were some interesting twists and turns, people allying up with each other that I did not expect, but of course there were also some parts that were a little bit obvious!
This book was very hard to put down, since I just needed to know where this story was going to end!
Maybe it is not the best YA fantasy series ever, but it is definitely not the worst either, but it was very enjoyable and I had a really good time reading it!
Also I really like Kendare Blake’s writing, and will definitely have to pick up more from her soon and I’m curious to what she will write next.
I haven’t read this one, but I’ve heard so many amazing things about it!!
I definitely recommend 🙂
I just finished this one a couple weeks ago. Can’t say it was the ending I’d hoped for, but it wasn’t the worst, either.
I feel like most people weren’t the biggest fan of this ending haha!
Out of this series I liked the second and third book the best. I wasn’t really a fan of how it all ended. Great review!
Haha always fun to see different opinions!
Thanks:)
