My thoughts:
I was a bit dubious about going into this book. I really enjoyed the first book, but it could have stand on its own. There were still some unanswered questions, but they could have been left open. So I was a bit afraid the story would have been dragged out. However, I did give this book a try and I really enjoyed it! It does continue on with the mystery in the first book, but there are also new things happening.
This book takes place a couple of months after the first book, in that time she has started her podcast, in which she explains everything that happened in the first book. She has been saying that this was a onetime thing, but now someone close to her has gone missing. So she starts using her podcast to solve the mystery behind his disappearance.
I do think I preferred the mystery in the first book over the mystery in this one, but still the story had me hooked. I kept on listening to this book in big chunks since I just could not put it down. This is because of the plot, the writing, but also the great narration!
In this book we see more of how everything that happens affects Pip, and I did really like that! It made her more ‘human’. Since in the first book she sometimes felt a bit too perfect, being able to solve all these things other weren’t. She still does that in this book, but we can see how it affects her mood and her relations to other characters.
After the ending I’m really curious to what will happen in the last book!
I definitely recommend this if you’re into YA mysteries, and also definitely recommend the audiobook, it has amazing narration!
Good Girl, Bad Blood is a crime romance set in London during the 1960s. The book begins with one woman’s murder and ends with several women disappearing into thin air — a few of whom also end up with dead boyfriends, or boyfriends who turn out to be killers. It centers around an unnamed main character who goes on the run from her father and tries to unravel clues to save herself. She learns about what happened to other women at the time and comes to understand that people are doing terrible things in secret.
At first I was hesitant to read a crime romance for some reasons so there’s quite a bit of information here. So I decided to start with chapter 1 of this novel because it wasn’t too far out to my liking. If you don’t mind suspenseful plots, then this might not be the right place for you to read. Although at that point this was the first chapter, a second one is much more enjoyable when read because a lot of plot points can be deduced. However if you’re looking at Good Girl, Bad Blood for story purposes only, then it may do. Just know there’s suspense and a twist in the book so don’t let…
