I think I read the least amount of books this month for this year. But I did read some really big books and also there were quite some, exciting, things going on in my life! And I still read quite a bit haha!
This month I went on a short vacation, to visit some friends! The day after I came back I signed a contract for my apartment! And I spent the rest of the week moving things from my parents to the apartment. And then I started my new job, which was very exciting but also required some getting used to! Especially because they had a different work schedule due to COVID (my job cannot be done from home), which means days of 10 hour shifts, but also less working days. On the days I had to work, I barely read, I was just too tired haha!
As usual, let’s start with the statistics of the month! (I’m scheduling this a little bit in advance, and I’m still in the middle of a book and audiobook, so maybe I will actually have finished those as well..)

I don’t think I ever reached a 50/50 ratio for these stats!

I thought the adult section would be bigger haha! I thought I read quite some adult fantasy, but maybe not?!

And of course, mainly fantasy! But there is poetry in there as well!

I don’t think E-book ever had the biggest section haha! But I read some e-books while on vacation, and I really had to catch up on some E-ARCs, so it makes sense!

Once again, my ratings were everywhere this month haha!

And lastly, page count! 300-400 is always the biggest, but defintitely read some longer books as well!
And now for all the books I read and their ratings! (If I have a review up they are linked to the cover, some books still have reviews coming!)

Favourite read: The Black Flamingo, Assassin’s Quest and The Eye of the World!
Most disappointing: The King of Crows.
Looks like you had a pretty good reading month, despite everything! I don’t blame you for not having the energy to read after 10-hour days lol.
Out of curiosity, what do you use for your charts and stats?! I think they’re so neat!
Yess I did 🙂
Just excel! I keep a page with all the books that I read, where I put page count etc, then seperately I have a sheet where I count everything (or let excel do that with COUNTIF function) and those numbers I use to make the pie charts!
Took me some time to figure out haha! (I hope this was useful, otherwise I can try and explain better!)
Congrats on reading so many books and I am glad you had 4/4.5/5 star reads! The Black Flamingo, You Should See Me in a Crown and Elantris are all on my TBR! My favorite read of the month was The Cruel Prince and my least favorite… probably What If it’s Us.
Ooh I hope you will love those too!
I really liked The cruel prince as well, and not a big fan of What if it´s us haha!
As always, love seeing your breakdown of stats. Looks like you had a fantastic reading month once again. Hope your August is great, Evelyn!
Thanks!
You had a fantastic month! I always enjoy your pie charts.
Thanks 🙂
Great wrap – I love the pie charts! I’m hoping to read Black Flamingo and Jurassic Park one day! ☺️
Thanks! I love them too haha!
They were really good!
Wow, your “least amount of books” is still really impressive! I’m glad you enjoyed so many of them!
Although it’s sad to see that The King of Crows is apparently disappointing so many people… I still haven’t read it, and all the bad/mediocre reviews are making me anxious
It is!
I know, I was so sad about it.. It was just not as good as the first three books!
Wow! That looks like such a busy reading month!! I’m definitely going to have to pick up Eye of The World soon because you loved it so much ❤️
p.s. congrats on your apartment and good luck at your job!!
It was so good!
Thanks 🙂
Phew! You read so much with all that going on! Congratulations on the apartment and the new job! ✨
Thanks 🙂
Always happy to see Robin Hobb being enjoyed
Heard good things about James Islington’s books but never tried them.
I´m very excited to continue on with ehr work!
I defintiely recommend his books! (or at least The shadow of what was lost!)
