This weeks topic is ‘Reading & Blogging: Their effect on writing’, honestly I have no idea what to say about this haha. So I’m just going to follow the questions!
Have you ever felt that as a read, you should as be a writer or vice versa?
No. I feel like this is such a stupid assumption. So often when I tell someone I love to read they ask ‘oh when are you writing a book?’. Why do you have to write when you love to read? I’m very happy with reading other people’s work!
Do you think that a desire to write is connected with a love of reading?
I don’t feel like that as a reader you have to write, so it should also count the other way around, a writer shouldn’t have to love reading. But I think most fiction writers would love to read since I assume they like to escape the world through their own world/fantasies, which you can also do through reading!
As a book blogger, do you ever feel discouraged about publishing a book because you know how readers & bloggers can react to books/authors?
So as I said, I don’t really want to publish a book haha. But I can imagine that it can be scary to publish a book as a book blogger or booktuber, since you are very involved in the bookish world. And maybe it would be weird to hear peoples thoughts on your book, especially since those are people you do connect with. Personally I would also doubt if people are genuinely excited about your book or loved your book or if they just don’t want to hurt your feelings since they know you will read their post or something!
Do you think that authors can be book blogger as well, or that they’ve crossed the imaginary line between authors and bloggers and therefore are not like other book blogger anymore?
No? Of course authors can be book bloggers as well?! If they enjoy blogging then why not, and if they still want to share their thoughts on books then why not!
I feel like this was quite a boring discussion haha, I just don’t have much to say about this topic!
