This week’s topic is ‘what makes a book beautiful’!
While writing this post, I realized I don’t care that much about the covers of books haha! I actually like quite many of them!
It’s impossible not to sometimes judge books by the cover – what makes a book beautiful to you?
The books that are currently facing out on my bookshelves are:
So what we mainly see is drawn, strong looking people haha! With the exception of Raybearer, although it does have a face on it as well!
I guess I just really like drawn people on covers haha!
Are there certain covers you’re drawn towards, and certain styles you stay away from?
On the contrary of me loving drawn people on covers, I do not really like real people on covers haha.. But luckily we do not really have that in fantasy books haha, and I don’t often own the contemporary/romance books I read. So that is not really a problem for my bookshelves :p
Examples of fantasy covers that I do not really care about are for example the Bone Shard Daughter and the Bone Season! I do own both books, so the covers are not withholding me from buying them ahha!
Also I think the Covers for The Darkest Minds, Red Queen and Ace of Shades are a bit boring, since they only contain a symbol!
What are some of the most beautiful covers you’ve seen?
Besides the ones I have already mentioned, I love the covers for The Poppy War, Kingdom of Souls, Doors of Eden, Children of Blood and Bone, Black Sun, and so many more haha!
