Let’s talk bookish is a weekly meme, created and hosted by Rukky @Eternity Books and Dani @Literary Lion, here different topics will be discussed.
This week’s topic is ‘Why do you blog?’
When did you start blogging and why?
I started in April 2018, so almost three years now! At that time I used my Bookstagram a lot (need to get back to that!), and was (and still am) obsessed with Booktube! I kinda wanted my own Booktube, but I’m way to shy for that. But since I still wanted to share my love for books and be part of a community, I started my blog!
What keeps you motivated to continue?
I love sharing my thoughts, reading other bloggers thoughts, and interact with each other! So basically the community!
As I shared in my last weeks TTT post, I do want to start posting less (this is actually my first week doing that!). So that I can put more attention to the posts that I’m actually posting! Which makes me more excited about actually posting haha!
Have you ever thought about not blogging anymore?
No not stopping. But as I just mentioned I have decided to blog less. At the end of 2020 I was getting kinda stressed about having a post up every single day. And then being not to happy with my post, since I just wrote something quickly so I had something.
Now that I have decided to post less I hope I will less stressed, and be more happy with my posts!
I haven’t thought about stopping, since I do love posting, and reading other blog posts!
What would make you go on a hiatus for forever?
I think I will stop blogging when I do not enjoy doing it anymore haha!
I don’t really know, I’m not very focussed on until when I would blog. I’m just focussed on what I enjoy doing right now, and that includes blogging!
Do you have any specific plans for your blog this year, and if so, what are they?
As I’ve mentioned often now, post less, and put more attention to the posts that I do post!
Besides that I would like to change the outlook of my blog a bit, but I do not know into what and how. So we will see if I end up doing that haha!
I started my blog for the same reason. I wanted to talk about books and was super into Booktube, but felt way too awkward to record myself and post it online. That’s when I decided to start my blog. This April will be four years!
Ooh I will be blogging for 3 years in April haha!
I hope you’re new schedule helps with your stress, Evelyn! <3
Thanks! I hopenso too haha!
Great post, this is super interesting! I totally agree with the stress about posting so often, I mean I only posted twice a week in 2020, I could never imagine doing it every single day!
I´m gladI made the decision to post less haha! It is already making me feel good!
Great post Evelyn! I’m so impressed and inspired by how much you post and read, but I can totally see why you want to post less frequently. I’m excited to read what you come out with 🙂
Thanks! This comment made me smile 🙂
I started blogging almost by accident. My husband started the blog for me and I never expected anybody to check it out or interact with me – when they did, well, as you know, it’s great having a whole community of people to talk to who love books as much if not more than you do yourself. I can get my massive geek on with everyone and vent all my book gushing.
Lynn 😀
Ooh so fun he started it for you!
The community is the best! So good to have people around who love the same things as you!
I want to try and get into bookstagram, I’m still trying to get into it and navigating Instagram, as I’ve not been using it that long really! I want to properly dedicate some time to being more consistent with it this year.
I love blogging and I can’t imagine stopping doing it! For now I’ll just keep blogging while I enjoy it and see what the future brings!
Same for me haha! I really need to put in some time to make photo’s that I’m really happy with! I think I will then post more 🙂
Let’s hope we will both enjoy blogging for a long time!
