It is already the end of June! So it is time for the midyear freak out tag! I love this tag, and reading everyone’s answers!
Some books apply for more questions, but I don’t want to repeat myself, so will only mention them once! (also if I have a review it is linked!)
The best book you’ve read so far in 2019

Four three two one – Courtney C Stevens
The last magician – Lisa Maxwell
In an absent dream – Seanan McGuire
Do you Dream of Terra Two? – Temi Oh
Truthwitch – Susan Dennard
My favourite sequel this year

The caged queen – Kristen Ciccarelli
The wise man’s fear – Patrick Rothfuss
Lord of shadows – Cassandra Clare
A map of days – Ransom Riggs
A new release that you haven’t read yet but really want to

The winter of the witch – Katherine Arden
Crown of feathers – Nicki Pau-Preto
Wicked Saints – Emily A Duncan
Descendant of the crane – Joan He
Romanov – Nadine Brandes
Most anticipated release for the second half of the year
I posted my TTT about this last week ahah (see it here!)

But to name some:
Darkdawn – Jay Kristoff
Ninth house – Leigh Bardugo
All the bad apples – Moïra Fowley-Doyle
Capturing the devil – Kerri Maniscalco
Your biggest disappointment

A curse so dark and lonely by Brigid Kemmerer (see my review here!). I guess this is kinda an unpopular opinion, but I was mainly just bored while reading this..
Biggest surprise

Daisy Jones & the six – Taylor Jenkins Reid. I really enjoyed Evelyn Hugo, but since this both of these are historical fiction, I did not expect the author the make me enjoy this genre this much! I fell in love with this story, and the audiobook was fantastic!
Favourite new to you or debut

With the fire on high by Elizabeth Acevedo! (I now have also read her first release!). I picked this one up 60% because of the cover, the rest because of the hype! And the hype is absolutely deserved! KI loved the story, and (again) the audiobook was great!
A book that made you cry

I don’t cry in books, but We are okay by Nina LeCour got me really close!
A book that made you happy

Nevermoor – Jessica Townsend. This was just so much fun and made me really happy!
Your favourite book to movie adaptation that you’ve seen this year

The Hate U Give! Tbh this is the only movie adaptation I have seen, but I think it would make it on here anyways!
Favourite blog post you’ve published this year
Eeh This is a hard one!
I’m really proud that I was asked to participate in two blog tours! (for Wandering in Wonderland and Hook & Crown)
I also really enjoyed doing the TTT for favourite releases of the last 10 years!
Personally I liked my review for the last magician.
The most beautiful book that you’ve bought/received this year
As I mentioned before, I’m not really buying books since I’m living abroad.
If I’m correct I bought 7 or 8 books this year! Excluding e-books, which I don’t think are that many either! (maybe 10?!)
But I think I’m most happy with my additions to my Harry Potter collection! This year (so far) I’ve bought the Chinese, Danish and Lithuanian version of Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone!

What are some of the books that you need to read before the end of the year

Finale – Stephanie Garber
The mime order – Samantha Shannon
Now I rise – Kiersten White
The poppy war – RF Kuang
And many many more..
(I might have skipped some questions, since I did not know an answer :p)
I can’t wait to get on and read The Last Magician; like you I also really want to read Crown Of Feathers, Wicked Saints and Descendant Of The Crane. And I can’t wait for Ninth House! I loved reading your answers.
Thanks
I’m actually currently reading crown of feathers and it’s fantastic!
