My thoughts:
This book was so much fun to listen to! I really enjoyed the character development, especially from Ethan, one of the side characters! He was really mean throughout most of the book, but he changes and says something near the end of the book, which was so sweet! Stella, our main character, was okay, but I thought she was quite annoying for most part of the book..!
My favourite thing about the book were by far all the different creatures that we got to see! They were all amazing, and I can’t wait to learn about more in the next books!
There were some parts that felt a little bit convenient, but then again, this is a middle grade book!
I really recommend this book on audio, and I will definitely continue on with the next one!

My thoughts:
This book is so much fun! The characters are amazing, both main and side characters! I love the relation between them, especially between Tobu and Ash! But also the friendship between Lunah and Ash! I also really loved that not all characters were human, and nothing was being said about that!
The plot was so intriguing and fast-paced, I kept wanting to continue, since I just needed to know how each scene was going to end! The setting of this book, snowy world, was so well done, the whole book felt so magical and whimsical!
The main character, Ash, has some powers that are hated by most of the population. And we follow him finding his way with this magic, and finding his place in the world! And it is just such a beautiful story! I cannot wait where the sequel is going to take us!
I did take half a star, mainly because there is some betrayal in this book, that I thought was pretty obvious. (Maybe not for the target audience though..)
There are illustrations in this book, and they are gorgeous. Those on its own are worth the read!

My thoughts:
This was such a fun and quick read!
My favourite parts were definitely the writing and the setting of this book!
After every couple of chapters we got a short story, which in the end tied in with the overall story. I really loved those small stories, they were so magical!
The characters were okay, but I felt like there was not much depth in them..! Although for Yanka, we do see her develop and love her found family! But the rest didn’t have much, especially Sasha, he was quite important for the story, but we do not know anything about him?! I did love Mousetrap, he was fun!
I loved the mythology used in this book, with the Yaga and the house with chicken legs! I really need to read more of these!
I had a good time reading this, and will definitely check out Sophie Anderson’s other work!
Great reviews! I’ve heard a lot of good things about Frostheart and I really want to try Sophie Anderson’s work this year.
I hope you do, I want to read the rest of het works as well!
