This posts is totally not book related, but I hope you enjoy it anyway!
As soon as I knew I was going to study in Sweden, I knew I had to go to (Swedish) Lapland! I mean now it is relatively close!
I’m so happy I ‘finally’ went this past week! I went there with three of my friends and we had an amazing time!
One of the reasons why I wanted to go was to see the northern light, unfortunately it was way too cloudy the whole time we were there to be able to see this. I don’t think it stopped snowing once while we were there. I love snow, so at least I got that!
When we were there it was ‘only’ -13 degrees celcius, which is not so cold fot that far north. But I can tell you I was quite happy it was not colder, being outside for 6 hours with these temperatures was an experience..! There were moments I couldn’t feel my toes, hands or nose.. Which is not a great feeling tbh! To survive this cold I got to wear this amazing outfit:

See how excited I am haha! Obviously missing the gloves!
But besides the cold this trip was amazing! On our first full day there we went on a snow mobile tour to the Ice hotel!

I love this photo haha! You can’t even see it is me, but I swear it is! Originally I wasn’t allowed to drive since I do not have my drivers license, but the tour guide let me go one round on child’s speed (30km/h) haha! When I was on the back of the snow mobile we went around 60/70km/h! I think the driver wanted to go faster, but she slowed down because I was scared hahah!

As the name suggest, everything in the Ice hotel was made of ice and snow! It was very beautiful to see! I hope these photo’s give you an idea of how it looked like!
In the evening we went and visited a reindeer farm!

It was so nice to see these animals in real life! I know the last photo is a bit scary haha, but it was a bit hard to photograph them in the dark!
We also saw wild reindeers during the snow mobile tour, but that photo is so blurry, you can’t even tell!
The next day we went on a dog sledge tour! Which was very nice experience! (I do feel a bit bad for the dogs though.. Even though it looked like they were really treated well!)

The views during this tour were amazing! There was so much snow <3
It would have been even more beautiful if the sky was blue haha!
Both sitting on the sledge and ‘stirring’ the sledge were amazing! ‘Stirring’ the sledge was basically only breaking sometimes.
Even the views from our cabin were amazing!

I wanted to share this experience, since I had an amazing time! I hope that even though this wasn’t book related, I hope you enjoyed reading this!
Looks like a really neat trip! It’s awesome that places like this still exist in the world.
Yess! It is wonderful!

It was! Thanks
Looks like such a fun time! The snow just looks so beautiful, shame it got in the way of you seeing the northern lights. But, it looks like you got to see a lot of awesome stuff regardless. The reindeer and dogs looks so cute!
Yes, but indeed I still had an amazing time!
Looks like great fun. We also have an Ice Hotel here and I tell you I would stay there lol. Everything is so cold and humid as expected. But itβs gorgeous to visit. Love that you posted this.
It was so much fun!
Yeah I only visited haha! It is so expensive to actually stay there!
