My thoughts:
I’m so happy I’m finally reading this series! I’m loving it a lot, and I cannot wait to continue!
So much was happening in this book! But it was so well done, that it did not feel overwhelming! And it was quite easy to follow what was happening. Sometimes when lots is happening in a book it becomes too confusing, but definitely not for this one!
We follow more characters in this book compared to book one, which was necessary to be able to follow all the action. I also really liked reading from multiple POVs and learning about the world through different eyes!
I have to admit, in the first couple of chapters I was a little bit confused about where we were on the map. The map in my copy uses a really weird font, and I couldn’t find any of the places they were talking about. But I figured it out at some point. I’m pretty sure there was a small time gap between book one and two, so I think that was why I mainly was confused. Since we did not start directly at the end of book one.
I really enjoyed seeing the growth in Rand, Mat and Perrin in this book and especially since book one! The relations between them shift quite a bit and not necessarily in a way you would expect! I quite liked that Rand kept struggling with his ability. Often in books we have someone finding out they have a power and they master it within days, but not Rand! Actually all of the characters in this book are so interesting, I loved seeing Egwene and Nynaeve learning more about themselves as well. And Moiraine keeps being a mystery to me, but I like it. There was a part of the story near the end of the book were something happened to these characters, and it was kinda scary! I didn’t see that coming at all haha!
I don’t know what more to say about this book, it is amazing! And so far these chunky books are totally worth it! I’m definitely planning on continuing soon!
I’ve only read the first two books in this series and that was several years ago now! I can’t remember it that well but I really want to continue this series at some point…
I hope you do, so far it is vry good!
I haven’t read it but it sounds great! Lovely review <3
Thanks 🙂
Yay! I’m also reading it for the first time (I’m on book 9, I think), and I’m also REALLY enjoying it.
So glad you are still enjoying it! I need to continue ASAP!
