My thoughts:
I love the Caraval series (really should reread it!) so I got very excited when I learned about this book! And just had to pick it up shortly after its release!
The world in Caraval is just so magical and drags you in from the start, and it is no difference for this book. As soon as I read the prologue I was sucked into the story. I started this book on a day that I had some stuff to do, so I was thinking I will just read 50ish pages and then go do my stuff. I just sat on the couch and read ~150 pages, and totally ignored all the other things I had to do. Same for the next day ahah!
I loved Evangeline, she just really tried to do something good, but everything was against her. I just really liked how she dealt with all the situations. And especially her interactions with Jacks, I love Jacks! I also loved seeing some familiar faces from the Caraval series!
The plot was very interesting and I cannot wait to see where it will go in the sequel! This story is so magic-based and I loved it.
The main reason for not giving this book five stars is because there were some plot points that were a bit too obvious is my opinion.
Sometimes with companion books I’m afraid they ‘overdo’ the story, but that was definitely not the case for this book.
Garber’s writing is just amazing, I think I would read everything she writes! And I really hope the next book will come soon!
I’m so glad you liked this! I still need to go back and finish the Caraval series soon!
You do! I love the series!
This is one of my favorite reads of the year. I love Evangeline and Jacks!!
They were so good! I’m not sure about favourites yet, but it will definitely be high on the list!
Glad you liked this one! It was definitely a book that was hard to put down.
Right?!
