In April it is time for my favourite readathon again! Time for the OWLs! This readathon is organised by G from Book roast on Youtube!
All information can be find on this website!
For this readathon we have to choose a career path, and ‘take’ the necessary courses. I really struggled with choosing my career haha! I kinda wanted to go with Alchemist again, since I think it really suits me, but I did that one last year already. Others that interest me are Curse breaker, Herbologist, Magizoologist, Potioneer and Spellmaker.
I will try and read the prompts for all classes, but I think I will focus on becoming a Spellmaker for this round!
So here are my reading plans! (the ones in bold are needed to become a Spellmaker):

- Ancient runes (heart on the cover or in the title) – Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson
- Arithmancy (Read something outside of your comfort zone) – All your twisted secrets by Diana Urban
- Astronomy (Read the majority of this book when it’s dark outside) – Hero at the fall by Alwyn Hamilton

- Care of magical creatures (Creature with a beak on the cover) – King of crows by Libba Bray
- Charms (White cover) – A torch against the night by Sabaa Tahir
- Defence against the dark arts (Book set at the sea or coast) – Two dark reigns by Kendare Blake

- Divination (Assign a number to your TBR and use a random number generator) – Race the sands by Sarah Beth Durst
- Herbology (Title starts with an M) – The merciful crow by Margaret Owen
- History of magic (Book featuring witches/wizards) – Carry on by Rainbow Rowell

- Muggle studies (Book from a perspective of a muggle (contemporary)) – Giant days vol 8 by John Allision
- Potions (Book under 150 pages) – Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell
- Transfiguration (book/series that includes shapeshifting) – House of earth an blood by Sarah J Maas
I have to get most of these books from the library, which when I’m writing this is still open. But with the current situation I don’t know how long that will be the case, so it is possible that I have to switch things up a bit!
There are also some other books that I would like to get to in April, like my ARCs for The scrapegracers and The fantastical exploits of Gwendolyn Grey! I would also like to listen to Assassin’s apprentice and Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets!
I was so excited for my OWLs… but… then I haven’t really read anything yet this month!!
There is still time haha!
YOU ARE SO AMBITIOUS!!!!!!! OH MY GOODNESS! I picked like the easiest class ha-ha! I really want to read that series by Sabaa Tahir … I’ve been eyeing it for a while! Good luck with your reading challenge!
Haha I am..! I hope I will manage, especially with the NEWTs!
An ember in the ashes is so good, you really should pick it up!
Once again I’m missing out on this because I’m too busy with other reading but it looks like so much fun! Good luck with it, Evelyn! Looks like you have a great TBR picked out for it.
Aah sad to hear! But I hope your other reading is very good!
Thanks 🙂
I adore the Steelheart series, it doesn’t get talked about that much. Lots of good reads, I’m also reading Race the Sands this month!
I indeed don’t see it around so often! But I want to read everything Sanderson haha, so this is a good reason to pikc it up!
I hope we both enjoy!
Wow that’s a great set of books Evelyn. Some big ones too Good luck for the OWLs !!!
Yeah I also realized later that I choose quite some big ones haha!
Thanks 🙂
I’m participating, but I don’t have a career picked yet I’m leaning towards Magizoologist or Hogwarts Professor.
Ooh those sound good too!
Best of luck with the readathon! I really enjoyed Carry On and I want to continue with The Diviners series soon, too. I hope you enjoy all of these!
Thanks! Good to hear 🙂
