Since we’re halfway through the OWLs I thought I would give an update on how my ‘exams’ are going! (Also I’m slightly bored, so I needed to come up with something to do :p)
I’m going for the Spellmaker career, for which I need 7 OWLs, but I’m an overachiever and want to get them all! The bold ones are the OWLs I have completed! I will list the book that I have read or am planning to read after the prompt! Some of the books have changed from my original plan due to me not being able to get the book.. (See my original plan here!)
Ancient runes (heart on the cover or in the title) – Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson.
Arithmancy (Read something outside of your comfort zone) – All your twisted secrets by Diana Urban.
Astronomy (Read the majority of this book when it’s dark outside) – Hero at the fall by Alwyn Hamilton.
Care of magical creatures (Creature with a beak on the cover) – A wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin.
Charms (White cover) – A torch against the night by Sabaa Tahir.
Defence against the dark arts (Book set at the sea or coast) – Two dark reigns by Kendare Blake.
Divination (Assign a number to your TBR and use a random number generator) – Race the sands by Sarah Beth Durst.
Herbology (Title starts with an M) – The merciful crow by Margaret Owen.
History of magic (Book featuring witches/wizards) – Carry on by Rainbow Rowell.
Muggle studies (Book from a perspective of a muggle (contemporary)) – Giant days vol 8 by John Allision
Potions (Book under 150 pages) – Paper girls vol. 6 by Brian K. Vaughan.
Transfiguration (book/series that includes shapeshifting) – House of earth an blood by Sarah J Maas
7/12! I would say I’m doing pretty well, especially since two of the books that I still have to read are really short! And there is the Reading Rush readathon starting today, so I would say I can knock some out for that!
