My thoughts:
I really enjoyed reding Kingdom of Souls earlier this year, so I was really excited to pick this one up! (Although it still took me a couple of months..)
My rating for characters went down compared to my rating for the first book (7). In the first book I already was not a huge fan of Rudjek, and I still wasn’t in this one. Unfortunately in this book some of the chapters were written from his POV. Although I do see why it added to the story, I definitely liked those chapters less then the ones written from Arrah’s POV. I did really enjoy Arrah as a main character, and a lot of side characters became very interesting in this one! There were parts were I wasn’t sure who to trust, who was telling the truth etc, I love that!
I still really enjoyed the magic and the world in this one, we definitely got to learn more about both. Especially the world expanded a lot!
As I also mentioned in my review for book one, this series is way darker then I had expected. And I had kinda forgotten that book one was dark, so it took me by surprise again!
I read this book in two days, I just could not put it down, I just really needed to know what was going to happen!
I’m very excited for the release of Master of Souls in August 2022! I hope the cover will be more like book one, since I’m not a fan of this one haha!
