What is it about? (Summary from GoodReads)
Lily Young
thought traveling across the globe with a reawakened sun prince was a grand
adventure. Now she’s about to embark on the journey of a lifetime.
When Amon and Lily part tragically, he
transports himself to the Netherworld—what mortals call hell. Tormented by the
loss of his one true love, he’d rather suffer in agony during Lily’s mortal
years than fulfill his duty to protect humanity.
Heartbroken, Lily seeks refuge on her
grandmother’s farm. Yet she can feel Amon’s pain, and she has been having
dreams—dreams of Amon continually suffering.
For before he departed, Amon gave Lily something
very special, an item that connects them even though they are worlds apart. Now
Lily must use this object to free him, and to free their realms from darkness
and utter chaos. She will do whatever it takes.

My thoughts:
I was really surprised after reading book one about how much I enjoyed it. So I was quite interested in continuing this series. But I have to say I didn’t like this one as much as book one. Mainly because of the main character. She was just a bit whiny, and I hoped she would have been a bit of a stronger character.
I kinda enjoyed the story line, it was a fun read. There could have been skipped some details though, but that was not my biggest struggle with this book. My main problem were the characters, they just annoyed me quite a bit. As I mentioned lily was a really ‘weak’ character, I got a bit confused by the added love triangle thing, which was not really a love triangle, but really felt like it. Don’t know how to explain it without spoilers (not sure if they are spoilers, so better not say it).
I honestly don’t know what to say more about this book, I’m most probably not reading the sequel, but I’m interested in her other series!
Hmmm I’m curious about this one! I read The Lantern’s Ember by her late last year and found it interesting but not mind-blowing… And seeing your rating on this book, well…haha
Hahha.. the first one was better though!
Great review. I think she sounds kind of fun but cheesy. I think I’ll give her a try at some point. Her reviews are always so mixed.
Thanks ☺️ I definitely recommend the first book, was less of a fan of this one haha, and she has another series as well!
