What is it about? (Summary from GoodReads)
Secret Identities. Extraordinary
Powers. She wants vengeance. He wants justice.
The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies —
humans with extraordinary abilities — who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled
society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of
justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone… except the
villains they once overthrew.
Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she
is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets
Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice — and in Nova. But Nova’s
allegiance is to a villain who has the power to end them both.

My thoughts:
I was so excited to finally read this! I have loved all other books that I’ve read written by Marissa Meyer.
Anddd.. I was disappointed. My expectations for this book were really really high. And then most of this book I was just bored..
The books started of fantastic, with this immediate action scene! Then we got to learn about this magic system, which is really cool and interesting. And then nothing really happened anymore… Like there were small things happening, but nothing too exciting. At least not to me.
But I was really surprised by the ending, so I will still definitely continue the series! Because I really need to know what will happen! I will just hope it contains a bit more action.
Also I did really like most of the characters! Especially Oscar and Ruby.
This one has been on my TBR for a while but there are so many mixed reviews of it that I might just skip it. Thanks for the insight!
Yeah I totally see that! I enjoyed it, but I don’t think you miss too much if you skip it..
I tried listening to this audio book, but one of the narrators ruined it for me – and I just couldn’t get into the book.
Ooh bad narrators are the worst..
I’ve not read this one and it’s not on my tbr tbh – sorry it didn’t work out well for you though.Lynn 😀
Well it happens 🙁
I’m so sorry you didn’t really enjoy this. I also really want to read it, I hope I can get to it this summer. And I know what you mean with too high expectations- that always my biggest mistake! However, I have very high expectations even tho I know I should probably stop – on this book, simply because, as you mentioned, it’s Marissa Meyer and I love her. So, I hope it turns out great! Happy reading!
Haha, yeah high expectations is not always good..
I hope you will love it!
