What is it about? (Summary from GoodReads)
In Sky Hawkins’s
family, leading your first heist is a major milestone–even more so than
learning to talk, walk, or do long division. It’s a chance to gain power and
acceptance within your family, and within society. But stealing your first
treasure can be complicated, especially when you’re a wyvern–a human capable
of turning into a dragon.
Embarking on a life of crime is never easy, and
Sky discovers secrets about her mother, who recently went missing, the real
reason her boyfriend broke up with her, and a valuable jewel that could restore
her family’s wealth and rank in their community.
With a handpicked crew by her side, Sky knows
she has everything she needs to complete her first heist, and get her boyfriend
and mother back in the process. But then she uncovers a dark truth about
were-dragon society–a truth more valuable and dangerous than gold or jewels
could ever be.

What I thought:
Let’s be honest, this descriptions sounds amazing! I mean were-dragons?!! I was so excited for this book, and then it came in my fairyloot box, so I had to read it immediately!
But I have to say I’m a bit disappointed.. Mainly because of the writing, it was kinda childish.. I would say this book is for people who just get into YA, so a bit in between YA and middle grade. And I have to say I’m kinda of over that age..
Besides the writing, the book was so predictable.. I read the first chapter, and I just knew what was going to happen. Like the big lines, not the details. But every time something happens that I predicted I was like ‘mm, I hoped it would have gone differently’. I like it when you think you know what is going to happen and then it is totally different, but this was not that kind of book.
And because really early on in the book I predicted what was going to happen, I was just mostly bored while reading this.
Also this book was so short.. and the font is huge.. I read this book in one day.
The reason I did give this book some stars because the sibling relation is AMAZING! I loved how they cared for each other, and thought of each other, and helped each other! There definitely where some moments were my heart melted a bit because it was too cute!
Also I had to add half a star for the idea of this book! I now know I need more were-dragon books!
