What is it about? (Summary from GoodReads)

The year is 2059. Nineteen-year-old Paige Mahoney is working in the criminal underworld of Scion London, based at Seven Dials, employed by a man named Jaxon Hall. Her job: to scout for information by breaking into people’s minds. For Paige is a dreamwalker, a clairvoyant and, in the world of Scion, she commits treason simply by breathing.

It is raining the day her life changes for ever. Attacked, drugged and kidnapped, Paige is transported to Oxford – a city kept secret for two hundred years, controlled by a powerful, otherworldly race. Paige is assigned to Warden, a Rephaite with mysterious motives. He is her master. Her trainer. Her natural enemy. But if Paige wants to regain her freedom she must allow herself to be nurtured in this prison where she is meant to die.

What I thought:

I’m actually sad that I read this book.. Only 3 out of 7 books are released, which means I still need to wait quite a while before everything is released.

This book read really easily, which for me was actually quite surprising for a fantasy book!

I loved the main character and the writing style of this book. Which is one of the reason I really want to continue in this series right away! I really kept wanting to continue reading the book every time I put it down. I was looking at my notes for writing this review, and I kept repeating it so I guess that makes clear how much I liked it.

The ‘magic’ in this world is so original, it is not really magic though, but I really loved it! It was so original, I’ve never read a book that I could compare with this!

I really liked that 80% of the time the explanations were quite clear! I was only really confused by the ending, another reason why I really want to continue!

Also the romance was really obvious, but I like that it developed really slowly!

I think I would even love this book more if I did not read in the really busy time I was reading it in!

Advise for:

Every fantasy lover! It was so good and original! I would advise though to wait a bit longer so more books in the series will be released.

Come talk to me!

Were you ever sad that you read a book because the series is not complete yet?

  1. This one sounds like an interesting read! And all the time! I’m currently waiting until closer to the second book release date for a spin-off series I’m in love with
