What is it about?
Arti Penderhagen’s parents are ordered to be killed by Morgan Fay for the crime of reading, so she flees. She is hunted by Mordred, a police captain who can recite poetry to enhance his strength. Artie escapes to the Isle of Avalon, which is a sanctuary for outlaws. Here she meets Merl who tells here about the Grail Tome, an ancient book owned by Morgan Fay that can change the course of history. Can Arti steal it to save her parents?
What I thought:
So I stole that descriptions from GoodReads, because I did not know how to describe this book..
It was definitely really interesting. But the fact that it was FORBIDDEN TO READ stressed me out, what are you supposed to do with your life then???
I’ve never read a book based on the Knights of the Round Table before, and I really did enjoy it! (It took me quite long to realise though..)
The beginning was really confusing, since you get thrown into a world without any explanation, I think the dynamics of this world could have been better explained, I would at least have enjoyed it. Because of the title I expected it took take place in the past, so it was really weird when they started talking about cars and stuff. Personally I think it would have been made clearer that the book took place in the current time or it should have taken place in the past.
I do have to say some parts where I bit too convenient.
So gave it 3 stars because I really enjoyed the book and thought it was interesting. But I think the book should have been a bit longer and needed more explanation!
Recommend for:
People who love Knights of the Round Table!!
People who like books about books?!
And also for readers who want a short, quick to read book!
Come talk to me!
Have you read any books based on the Knights of the Round Table? If yes which ones? I’m interested J
