What is it about? (Summary from GoodReads)
The king’s
scholar, the magus, believes he knows the site of an ancient treasure. To
attain it for his king, he needs a skillful thief, and he selects Gen from the
king’s prison. The magus is interested only in the thief’s abilities.
What Gen is interested in is anyone’s guess.
Their journey toward the treasure is both dangerous and difficult, lightened
only imperceptibly by the tales they tell of the old gods and goddesses.

My thoughts:
I’m buddy reading this series with some people on Instagram and greatly enjoying it!
I liked the start of this book, but it took me some pages to realize the main character is male haha
To be honest, I was bored the first 60% of this book. Nothing really happened, they just travelled around. The characters were just okay, not really interesting, didn’t care for them, but also did not dislike them. I did like the humour!
But then the second half started! And it was amazing! So much actions, many unexpected plot twists! For me the plot twists were so unexpected that I only understood them when they were explained, haha!
If the second book follows the same characters, which I think, I expect it to be really really good!
I’m giving this book 3 stars since the beginning was a bit boring.
Come talk to me!
Have you read this series? What did you think?
