My thoughts:
This book really caught me by surprise! I probably would never have picked this one up if I hadn’t gotten a copy in an Illumicrate box. And since I wanted to reduce my physical TBR, I decided to listen to this one. And what a great decision!
This book was so easy to listen to, I just could not stop ahah. It also really helps that the book has short chapters, ‘just one more’.
The idea of this book is so interesting, I mean library setting where a devil is accidently summoned by reading a book. We follow a girl who works at this library and the son a the principal. After they summon the devil they have to figure how to undo this and deal with the aftermath! I really enjoyed the plot, but at some parts the pacing was a little bit off.
Both characters were well developed, we got some background for both of them, so we could see where they were coming from. Not much development happened throughout the book though.
I really enjoyed the setting in this book, as mentioned, it is mainly in a library, which was very atmospheric and eerie!
This book is said to be horror, but I would say it is very mild to be fair! There are some darker parts, but definitely nothing too scary if you ask me!
I 100% recommend the audiobook! And I will also be checking out her next release in 2022!
