About the meme:
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish, but is now moved to That Artsy Reader Girl! To read more about this meme, look at this page!
This week’s meme is Authors I haven’t read but want to. I can promise you that this list is mainly adult fantasy authors, since that is what I really want to read lately!:

- Jenn Lyons – I’m very desperate to pick up Ruin of Kings!
- Peter V Brett – I’ve heard great things The Painted Man.
- Raymond E Feist – Again, heard great things about Magician.
- Brian McClellan – The cover of Blood of Empire sounds so good and has been on my wishlist for a long time!
- Octavia E Butler – I want to start with Parable of the Sower, but I’ve heard great things about all her works!
- Grady Hendrix – I want to read more horror and he is definitely on my list to try out!
- Stephan Graham Jones – Another horror author I want to try!
- Cixin Liu – I have heard great things about his sci-fi work!
- Megan Goldin – An mystery author I would like to try out!
- Steven Erikson – Would this list be complete without putting the Malazan series on here?! Some day I will read it!

I must admit I found Magician rather generic (coming to it after Tolkien, Shannara, Wheel of Time, Dragonlance) – the first half is awfully tropey to the point that some bits (a bit like the first Shannara book) felt like fan fiction of other fantasy novels! It picks up as it goes along as I recall – I ended up quite fond of some of the supporting characters, at least.
I’ve read two Octavia Butlers so far (Bloodchild and Wild Seed) and definitely want to read more. Not easy reads, but so much food for thought!
Oof that is good to keep in mind before starting;
I just received my copy of Parable of the Sower, so I think that will be my first Octavia Butler book!
Magician is the only book on here that I’ve read. It’s such a classic fantasy novel and I love it, but it definitely isn’t perfect and I’m not 100% sure it holds up. But it holds so much nostalgia for me too. I hope you enjoy it when you finally get to it!!
I hope you get to read all of these! Nice list!
Thanks 🙂
Octavia Butler’s works are masterpieces. I’ve read about 5 of her books, I think, but need to read more! Parable of the Sower is a great place to start, and Kindred is amazing as well. I really enjoy Grady Hendrix’s books too!
Ooh I’m so excited to read Parable of the Sower soon! My copy just arrived!
I love Grady Hendrix and Stephen Graham Jones! I hope you like all of these authors when you get to check them out!
Thanks 🙂

Wow, all of these titles are alluring. I think I will take a look at a few of these! I hope you enjoy all of these books when you get the chance to pick them up. Great post, as usual. 🙂
Thanks 🙂
Ooh I forgot about Jen Lyons! I’m definitely hoping to read at least the first of her series this year. I have read, and really enjoyed, The Night Swim so I hope you enjoy it when you get round to reading.
I kinda hope to read the whole series, but at least start the eries haha!
Octavia E. Butler was an amazing storyteller. Parable of the Sower is a great place to start with her work. May you enjoy it.
