About the meme:
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish, but is now moved to That Artsy Reader Girl! The read more about this meme, look at this page!
This week’s meme is book events to go to! This will be a short list, since I do not know many, and there are definitely not many in my surroundings haha:
- Bookcon/bookexpo – to start with the obvious one! (I’m not sure what it is called now haha)
- Comic-con – I think it would be fun to attend a comic con someday haha!
- YALLFest – I see this around on youtube quite a bit, always jealous!
Haha, okay this list is even shorter then I had expected! I guess because most of those big events are taking place in the US, I’m not too aware of them! We do have some events in The Netherlands, but they are of course mainly about Dutch books, and I don’t read those.. I would even love to go to a library sale, but they only sell Dutch books, and again, I don’t read those..
Ooh, all of these would be great! Fingers crossed that, one day, you’ll be able to go to at least one of these!
Thanks! I hope so too haha
I don’t know if I’d like any of the bigger events–comic cons and bookcon, etc, because they’re too crowded. Also I have heard horror stories about people scrambling for ARCs at some of them lol.
I like my local conventions–they’re smaller and still have a great lineup of authors. The biggest one I plan on attending is Worldcon 2021 since it’s going to be close to me next year (hopefully it will happen and not be shut down by the pandemic!)
I think those would be quite overwhelming indeed!
My problem with more local bookish events, is that they often only have Dutch books, and I don’t read those haha!
Oh I hope you manage to go!
I have gone to BookCon a few times, 3 times I think. It is a lot of fun when you go with others, it helps a lot in the line. It is also fun to experience the city as well. I always make a trip to The Strand any time I am in the city.
Ooh I would love to go to the strand as well!
I went to Birmingham’s Comic-Con a couple of years back, but San Diego’s Comic-Con is the place to be. It will be interesting to see how the Comic-Con from home works.
Ooh would be nice to compare haha!
I would love to attend BookExpo some day.
Here is my TTT.

I hope we both can!
Even though there are lots of book events/festivals in the U.S., none were readily coming to mind so I had to pick a different topic! BEA is definitely one I want to go to someday, though.
Happy TTT!

It was a difficult topic! BEA sounds so good!
Nice list! I miss library sales. I always look forward to our library’s big annual sale, but sadly, this year’s is cancelled (just like every other gathering).
I hope it will come back sometime soon (when it is safe of course)
I’d love to attend Comic-con someday, too.
My TTT .
It sounds like it should be good!
I went to my first book festival/event last year which was YALC and it was amazing! I was so sad it couldn’t happen this year. It’s in London, so maybe easier for you to get to than the US?
Ooh definitely! I heard of that one before, idk why I forgot about it haha!
Great list! I’d love to go to any book event, haha. I’m not picky.
Samee haha
I’d go with you to every one of these, Evelyn, lol!
Yesss
Great list! I’d really like to go to Comic Con, too.
Yeah it sounds like fun!
I switched mine to bookshops because I was stuck too! There’s a literary festival in Hay On Wye in Wales that I would love to visit, but most events are in the big warehouse type buildings and I find them too stressful.

Ooh smart, should have done that as well!
