About the meme:
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish, but is now moved to That Artsy Reader Girl! The read more about this meme, look at this page!
This week’s meme is Books I meant to read in 2020 but I didn’t get to. So for a start I looked back at my 2020 TBR to see what books were on there that I did not read, but still want to. I also looked at my ‘books to read before the end of the year’ post I did back in September. And lastly I added some that I really wished I also read haha:

- The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu – I do really want to read this, but for some reason I’m afraid I would not understand this book..?!
- Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky – For a while I was afraid this would be to difficult as well, but I recently read another of his works and loved it, so really excited now!
- The Secret History by Donna Tartt – I mean everyone says you need to read this if you love Dark Academia, so I need to do it. The cover is just putting me off..
- The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch – I think now that I’m getting more into adult fantasy I will be more likely to pick this one up!
- The Black Prism by Brent Weeks – Same story!
- Half a King by Joe Abercrombie – Again, same story!
- Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan – I don’t even know why I haven’t read this one yet.. But I now own it!
- The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune – Just hype! Which made me afraid that I wouldn’t love this, but I own it and I WILL read it soon!
- The Ruin of Kings by Jenn Lyons – This just sounds amazing, I ‘was’ just a bit intimidated by the size of these books..!
- Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko – Again so much hype for this one, makes me afraid that I wouldn’t like it. But I own it now so again I WILL read it soon!

The Lies of Locke Lamora and The House in the Cerulean Sea are both a couple of my favorites. I hope you enjoy them!
Ooh that is good to hear!
Great list! I need to read Half a King too!
I hope we will both like it!
I actually forgot I have The Lies of Locke Lamora, even though I placed it as a priority for 2020!
Haha I hope we can both read it this year!
Great list! I hope you get to these this year and that you love them!! 🙂
Thanks!
Great list, hope you can get to these soon. I love the Lies of Locke Lamora–that book was a lot of fun. Grim. But fun. 🙂
Thanks!
I really loved Half a King, but the other two books in the series have been gathering dust on my bookshelf for years. I really should get to reading them. I’ve heard amazing things about The House in the Cerulean Sea too.
Oops haha, I know that problem!
I have the Ruins of Kings on my shelf and have been meaning to read it as well. Hopefully this year! Hope you get to read all of these soon!
I just got my copy! I hope we will both love it!
I loved House in the Cerulean Sea so much! In this case, ignore the hype and just go for it. It definitely lives up to all the rave reviews. I think I’m the only person on Earth who didn’t like The Secret History — I read it years ago, but I found it really off-putting. I hope you enjoy the books you end up getting to!
Haha Hype can get really in the way sometimes!
I hope to resd The House in the Cerulean Sea next month!
You have two of my all-time favourite books on this list: The Lies of Locke Lamora and The Secret History. Locke Lamora has such fun characters and an amazing fantasy setting; The Secret History is just so atmospheric and self-indulgent. I hope you enjoy them 🙂
Oh I hope I will love them!
I hear nothing but good things for The House in the Cerulean Sea. I can’t wait to read it as well!
Same for me! I hope we will both love it!
Covers are very important, aren’t they? They set the mood for the book 🙂 I hope you can stop by:

Colletta
Definitely haha!
A friend of mine just started reading The House in the Cerulean Sea and says it’s delightful. I think I probably need to read it, too!
I’ve only heard amazing things about that one, so I really want to check it out!
*whispers* read The House in the Cerulean Sea. The hype is worth it! You’ll love it. And if you don’t? That’s also okay!
The Ruin of Kings (actually the whole series so far) is *chef’s kiss*. But those books are for sure chonkers, and I was also intimidated, and there’s just no getting around the fact that they’re THICK books. xD
I’m hoping to get to it next month! I really feel like I will love it!
I just got my copy of The Ruin of Kings, so I’m hopin to get to it soon! But indeed they are huge!
Raybearer does sound good.
My post.
It does!
Great list! I loved The Lies of Locke Lamora and The House in the Cerulean Sea, and I still need to read Girls of Paper and Fire and Raybearer, too. I hope you enjoy all of these!
That’s good to hear!
I hope we willl both enjoy those!
I hope you enjoy all of these.
Thanks 🙂
I still need to read Girls of Paper and Fire as well!
Glad I’m not the only one haha!
I’ve had Half a King on my list for years.
Same for me haha!
I didn’t put The House in the Cerulean Sea on mine, but I do think it looks interesting and may get to read it eventually.
Great list!
It sounds very good!
I totally understand about the hype for The House in the Cerulean Sea and The Chorus of Dragons series!! Both are on my TBR, but I am going to try and read them this year.
I hope we can both get to them!
