Weekly Wrap Up – September 2 to 8!

This first week of school was so exhausting, but I had a very good week! Also I read a new favourite book, so life is good!

What I read this week (books with * have a review coming!):

The poppy war – RF Kuang – 5 stars! I freaking loved this, and I can’t stop obsessing over it!

Unearthed* – Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner (audio) – 4 stars! I enjoyed this so much more than I had expected!

The near witch – VE Schwab – 3 stars! Not as good as the other VE Schwab books I’ve read, but I enjoyed it!

A Hero born* – Jin Yong – DNF! I’m very sad about this, since I was very excited to read it!

The golden Ass* – Lucius Apuleius – 2 stars! Not a big fan.

What I’m currently reading:

The subtle art of not giving a f*ck – Mark Manson – I had a goal of reading more nonfiction this year, finally getting to it haha!

The bone houses – Emily Lloyd-Jones – I haven’t started this when writing this, but I know I will before posting this!

Reviews I posted:

To be taught, if fortunate – Becky Chambers

Light years – Kass Morgan

Record of a spacebron few – Becky Chambers

A book of spirits and thieves – Morgan Rhodes

Other posts:

Weekly wrap up – August 26 to September 1

Top 5 Tuesday – Series I need to finish

The sunshine blogger awards #2

Books I bought/received:

Sightwitch – Susan Dennard (library)

Rivers of London – Ben Aaronovitch – purely bought this on recommendation of a friend, not sure what it is about haha!

What did you read this week?

  1. I haven’t read The Poppy War yet but I hear nothing but amazing things. Ah, I hope I love Near Witch – I feel like I usually five star Schwab stuff but we shall see.

    1. It really is amazing!
I usually do to, this one was just very different from her other work!

Sad about Hero Born – I have a copy of that one but I’ve read some very mixed reviews which doesn’t fill me with hope before picking it up.

  3. Great weekly wrap up! I’m glad you loved The Poppy War. Can’t wait to see what you think of The Dragon Republic when you get around to it.
