This past weekend I participated in the 48h round of bookoplathon, and I had a great time!
This readathon is organised by Becca from Becca and The Books on Booktube, and is based on her TBR game Bookopoly (which I also use for my monthly TBR’s 🙂 )
The idea of this readathon is that every 12hours dices will be rolled and new prompts will be added, which is so much fun, but also means, no planning! She will be using two of her boards, so we get prompts for each board (so two every 12 hours), and you can choose which one you will do, do both prompts, or choose a book that fits both! My goal is to fulfil at least one prompt every 12 hours, but preferably choose a book that will fit both prompts!
For a better explanation, watch her video here haha!
The first rolls we got in the announcement video! For the one board it was Dark cover and for the other board it was Fantasy!
Also, one of the best things, this whole readathon is live! There were several hosts, and they all organised a live show for four hours, which included reading sprints!
This post ended up being way longer then I thought! If you just want to see what I read over the weekend, scroll to the end!
Preparation for the readathon:
I actually had the Friday before this readathon off, both because I just wanted a short work week, but I also thought this was good preparation for the readathon haha!
So on Friday I did my groceries, had to pick up some other things, prepared my blog posts for the coming week. All so I could spend the whole weekend reading!
I also already started my read for the first prompt, since you are allowed to use a book you already started, and since you ‘only’ have 12 hours to finish a book, I thought this would be a good idea!
Managed to read 69 pages of my first read before falling asleep (won’t count those towards the readathon page count!)
Saturday (first two prompts):
I woke up around 8AM and continued with my first read Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, which is a reread for me! It fits both the dark cover and fantasy prompt! So that is nice 🙂 This is a longer read, but since it is a reread I was hoping to read it quite quick!
I joined the last hour of Maddie from @Bookbrowsingblog live sprints, then moved onto Steph @Stephloves sprints, which was 4 hours long! During these 5 hours I managed to reach page 356 of Six of Crows! Meaning I read around 300 pages! But I also had 110 pages left, hoping to finish them later in the weekend!

Saturday (second 2 prompts):
It was now time for the second two prompts to be revealed! This happened during Ashleigh @AFrolicThroughFiction’s sprints!
So the two prompts were POC rep and Contemporary! Which worked out perfectly for me!
For POC rep I decided to continue the audiobook for Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert. I was already 60% in, and on double speed it would take me around 2 hours to finish. I really wanted an audiobook so I could go out for a walk and work on my diamond painting!
For contemporary I could use the same book, but I decided to go with Watch Over Me by Nina LaCour. This is a shorter read, and on my March TBR, so I wanted to try and red it! Also I knew I wouldn’t need the rest of the day just for the 2 hour audiobook!
During the first sprint in this live I decided to watch some Netflix and ate lunch, needed a little break from actually reading haha! In the next sprint I went for a walk and listened to Dani Brown!
The third sprint I spend reading the first 50 pages of Watch Over Me, and really enjoyed it! But I noticed I couldn’t focus too well on physically reading haha!
Therefore I spend the last sprint of Ashleigh and the first one from Mel @MelReads listening to the ending of Dani Brown while doing my Diamond painting!
And then switched back to reading Watch Over Me for the rest of the evening, but also ate dinner and watched a little bit more on Netflix!
After finished Watch Over Me, I continued my reread of Six of Crows, but didn’t read too much, since I was so tired haha!

Sunday (prompt 5 and 6!)
Woke up at 6:30am.. Guess I didn’t sleep well because of the lack of physical activity on Saturday haha! I immediately checked the new prompts, since those were announced at 1am my time!
The new prompts were First in series and Chance card. Which meant I couldn’t read the books I had in mind that I wanted to read!
For first in series I decided to listen to The Empress of Salt and Fortune by Nghi Vo, I really want to read this one, and the audio was very short!
For chance card I listed two books I wanted to read (The Promised Neverland 7 and Dear Justyce), and two books I didn’t really want to read right now (Full-metal-alchemist 3-in-1 5 and The Ocean at the End of the Lane), I used a random number generator, and it chose Dear Justyce by Nic Stone for me. So I guess that is what I was going to pick up!
I started my day with finishing Six of Crows! I then went for a run, and listened to the audiobook while getting ready and afterwards!
I then watched Beth @BooksNest live stream while reading Dear Justyce!
Before the next prompts were announced I made it 2/3 into The Empress of Salt and Fortune, and 55% into Dear Justyce!

Sunday (prompt 7 and 8!)
The last two prompts were given by Aaron @BookedandBusy! The prompts were set in the present and other (meaning a genre you do not usually read). For set in present I immediately went for Bridge of Souls by Victoria Schwab, since I as really hoping to read it this weekend! The ‘other’ prompts was really throwing me off haha! I would say my most read genres are fantasy, sci-fi and romance, so something different then those! I ended up choosing Something is Killing the Children vol. 2 by James IV Tynion, which is a horror graphic novel! I really needed a graphic novel to be able to finish all of the books haha.
In Aaron’s first sprint I ate lunch and quickly went to the grocery store while finishing the audiobook for Empress of Salt and Fortune!
I then moved on to the graphic novel! Which I read in one sitting! I then started reading Bridge of Souls, and managed 100 pages until my family came over at around 4pm!
They left around 7:30pm, since they had to be home before curfew! Which was good for me since I still had some books to finish! Almost finished Bridge of souls during Codie @Codie’sBookCorner’s Live! I then finished it during Becca @BeccaanndtheBooks live, and continued with Dear Justyce! Until I fell asleep, manmaged a total of 149 pages!

Wrap up:
- Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (reread) – 5 stars (393 pages during readathon)
- Watch Over Me by Nina LaCour – 4.5 stars (165 pages)
- Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert – 4 stars (139 pages during readathon)
- Empress of Salt and Fortune by Nghi Vo – 3 stars (112 pages)
- Dear Justyce by Nic Stone (141 pages during the readathon!)
- Something is Killing the Children vol. 2 by James Tynion IV – 4 stars (144 pages)
- Bridge of Souls by Victoria Schwab – 4.5 stars! (300 pages)

Total pages: 1394 pages!
Conclusion: I had a great weekend, but now I’m very tired! Also I think I won’t read much for a couple of days haha!
Glad you had fun with this event, Evelyn! I wish I could participate in more events this year but I just don’t have the capacity for it lol. Hope your week has been going well.
Haha I feel you! I´m just always reminded howmuch fun they are when I do participate!
WOW! You did amazing! I had wanted to participate, but it didn’t work out in the end. It looked like it would be so much fun – and by the sounds of it, it was. I plan on reading The Empress of Salt and Fortune next month!
Thanks 🙂
I hope you can participate next time, it was definitely lots of fun!
Hopefully you will like it!
