So this time I decided to go with I short book I randomly bought, the word for world is forest.

Title: The word for world is forest
Author: Ursula K. Le Guin
Format: Paperback
Genre: Science-fiction.
First impressions:
I picked this book up because I want to read more sci-fi, and since the cover of the book says ‘science fiction masterwork’, I had to pick it up! But then, I started reading.. my literary first thoughts after finishing the first chapter: ‘huh..?!’
It was so vague, I had no idea what was going on, where we were, who the characters were. And since this book is so short, 130 pages, I would have expected quite an introduction in the first chapter.
Besides being vague, I’m not a big fan of the writing so far..
I will assume the vagueness of the book will improve from here and predict 3 stars.

Final thoughts:
Okay…
So this book.. I really really disliked it..
I have no clue what happened, the perspectives changed so often that I had no idea who I was reading from. I liked the fact that we were reading from both human and alien perspective, but there were like 5 different human characters to read from. Which means they changed often, and only after a couple of pages, and with no indication to who the next perspective was.
The writing style also really didn’t help, I can’t describe it but I just didn’t click with it..
I ended up giving this book 2 stars, the only reason for adding one star is that the idea of this book was so interesting, and I really wanted to enjoy it!
Still want to read more science fiction, but maybe more recent ones.
Come talk to me!
Have you read this book? What did you think?
