What is it about?
This is, obviously, about Bruce Wayne, in this book he is still a young boy. On his return from his birthday party he stops a criminal getaway car, even though the police told him to stop.
Because he did not follow orders from the police he is sentenced to do community service in the Gotham City’s Arkham Asylum. This Asylum holds the city’s most dangerous and mentally disturbed criminals. One of these criminals in Madeleine, who Bruce meets while cleaning. Madeleine is from the nightwalkers, who are currently terrorizing Gotham City.
The nightwalkers target the rich and Bruce is next up on the list. He has to decide if he can trust Madeleine with the information she gives him.
What I thought:
I do really like this DC icons series to see another perspective from these superheroes. I never really was into superheroes until recently, I’ve started to watch more superhero movies and really enjoying them. I also really like that these are all written by authors I like (except from the superman one, I don’t know that author..).
Okay I don’t really have too much to say about this book, it was just average for me.
So what I liked:
- Interesting plot
- Good characters
- Did not see the plot twist coming
- Surprising ending
What I did not really enjoy:
- Middle part was boring
- Not enough action
- Book was too short.
So by averaging that out I came on 3 stars.
Recommend for:
You definitely do not have to have knowledge of these superheroes to understand this story.
You should read this if you want an easy and fast read!
