My thoughts:
To be fair, I wasn’t a huge fan of King of Scars. I thought it was just okay. So I wasn’t necessarily in a rush to pick this one up.
But then I watched Shadow and Bone and I loved it so much, that I needed more of this world, so I picked up Rule of Wolves. And I loved it! (could possibly be because I was on a grishaverse high ahha!)
But seriously, I loved all the characters! Especially the side characters, like David, Genya and Adrik! And I will always love Nina! I enjoyed Nikolai and Zoya for most of the book, but some of their parts felt a bit convenient, so liked them a bit less.
I think I might have loved the setting in this book the most of all the previous books, since now I could imagine the settings from the show, and they did that so well!
I was loving the plot for most of the book, but I was a bit disappointed by the ending.. As in some parts were a bit too easy. But I still gave it 8/10 so I guess that says enough haah!
Leigh Bardugo was not holding back in this book. There was one part were I read a sentence, closed to book, and didn’t read for another 2 hours. If you read the book you definitely know what I’m talking about haha!
I was flying through this book, I just needed to know what was going to happen. This book is written from 3 main and 2 other POVs, and I was honestly looking forward to each POV since they were all in interesting positions all the time!
The ending was really setting up for more possible stories in this world, so I’m very curious to see if we will get that! And what characters that book would follow! (Still hoping for an Inej book!)
The Six of Crows duology will still be my favourite series in this world, but Rule of Wolves really made me appreciate this series as well!
I identify with this review so much. ROW was amazing, it wasn’t quite Six of Crows but still great!!
I agree! Six of Crows is a bit better, but this is close second!
The middle of this book, though. I read THAT chapter, and I literally could not see the page, I was crying so hard. I did the same thing–ended up putting it down for the night and not picking it up again until the next day because ouch. But it was so well done, and I just felt so satisfied by this as a sequel!
Right?! omg I really didn’t see that coming..
It really was well done!
