Jane’s questions:
- What book did you love, but didn’t expect it to be one of your favourites?
Recently An ember in the ashes by Sabaa Tahir took me by surprise! I thought I would like it, but I absolutely feel in love with the story!

2. What do you prefer: book to movie or book to TV adaptation?
That’s actually really depending on the book I guess.. I feel like for fantasies TV adaptations might be better, since then there will be more time to explore the world. While for romances a movie is good enough for me haha!
3. What’s your favourite classic and why?
Maybe The picture of Dorian Grey?! It is just so dark and weird and very interesting!
Or maybe David Copperfield by Charles Dickens, which for a classic is quite action packed.
As children’s classic definitely Anne of Green Gables!

4. Are you a neat-freak when it comes to organizing your books?
Mm not really I guess, maybe a bit hard to say, since I haven’t been with my bookshelves for a longer period of time in the last 2 years.. Currently they are overflowing, so they are just messy, because there is just not another way to put all my books on there!
5. Do you enjoy eating/drinking while reading?
Yes! Books and tea are the best combination! And a piece of chocolate, perfect!
6. What’s your favourite reading spot?
My bed! Or when the weather is nice, outside!
7. Which books shaped your childhood?
I think Harry Potter, to give you the classic answer. In my childhood I mainly read Dutch books, that are not translated, so wouldn’t mean anything to you anyway ahah!

8. Did you discover any amazing books lately? If yes, which ones?
Yes, My newest favourite book is Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia! I absolutely fell in love with this book, and can’t stop thinking about it! (My review will be up soon)

9. How do you deal with the blogging-stress?
I don’t really stress about blogging?! I like doing it haha
I also plan my posts quite far ahead, so then every time I have some time I can see which post I feel like writing 🙂
Of course review posts are depending on when I finish a book, but I try to write those on the day I finish them or the day after! Depending on what time on the day I finish it and if I have time and feel like writing the review!
10. Which author would you love to meet in person – and what would you ask them?
Personally I don’t really have to meet any authors! But maybe VE Schwab, Jay Kristoff and Susan Dennard?! I have no idea what I would ask them, I think I would be so awkward haha!
11. What’s your favourite aspect about blogging?
Talking to other bloggers 🙂 I love interacting with everyone! And reading everyone’s thoughts on books and getting amazing recommendations for books I would otherwise never have discovered!

Thank for the tag!! And I feel the same way about An Ember in the Ashes!! I can’t believe I only read it in January!! Why did this take me so long?!
Haha it was so good! Did you continue already?
Great answers!!! And what I’d give to read Anne of Green Gables as a young girl!!!! And I really have to read Dorian Grey – it sounds super interesting and I’ve always wanted to read one of Oscar Wilde’s novels!!! Happy reading!
I really think I would ahve loved it!
Thank you for the tag! I loved your answers, especially regarding book to film vs. book to TV adaptations. I agree 100% – for something like a romance, a film is better, but for fantasy, definitely give me a whole series! 😀
Fantasy just requires more time haha!
Thanks for the nom! 🙂 I haven’t read An Ember in the Ashes yet, but it’s been on my TBR for a while. I need to get to it soon!!
No problem! I hope you will like it!
Congratulations on all the awards and I definitely agree about tea, I couldn’t imagine going a day without it tbh I like adaptations whether they end up as books or films but I do agree that for fantasy series can be better as you get a better chance to explore the world like you said. If you liked God’s Of Jade & Shadow (which I still need to read) do you think you’re going to read Mexican Gothic?
Thanks!
Tea is the best! I will definitely read Mexican Gothic, can’t wait for it’s release!
Hopefully we both end up loving it then!!
Thank you so much for the nomination and congrats on yours!
No problem 🙂 Thanks!
Great answers! An Ember in the Ashes was definitely so surprisingly good!
It was 🙂
