I always love making lists! So I’m participating in Top 5 Saturday which is organised by Mandy @Devouring Books.
This week’s topic is Young Adult books! So I decided to look up the oldest YA books on my GoodReads Want To Read shelf! (Meaning I do not own thee books)

- A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness – I really need to pick this one up haha!
- The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson – I always keep forgetting about this one haha, also didn’t know it was YA, but GoodReads says so!
- The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima – Again, really need to read this one!
- The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black – Definitely still want to read this someday!
- Half a King by Joe Abercrombie – I did not know this was YA, but GoodReads says so! I really need to read anything by this author!

I really enjoyed The Demon King and the rest is The Seven Realms series. Would definitely recommend!
I hear so many good things about that series!
I have read 4/5 of those. I had never heard of Half a King but it sounds really good. The oldest YA on my list is Tithe by Holly Black. I have just never seem to have the time to get to some of the older books on my TBR.
Ooh I keep thinking if I should read Tithe!
This post reminds me… I haven’t read The Coldest Girl in Coldtown and The Demon King either
Haha I hope we will both like them!
Half a King looks really good!
It does!
I loved The Coldest Girl in Coldtown, it was my favorite book of the year back in 2015 (!), so I have no idea if it holds up today, but I hope it does and that you also like it!
Yeah I’m curious about that as well haha, guess I have to read and see!
I really want to read The Rithmatsit too! I’ve also heard it classified as middle grade, so I think it’s on the younger end of YA? But I’ve heard such good things about it! ❤
Oh really?! I think that is good to keep in mind when reading it haha!
