Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Shanah @the Bionic Bookworm and is now being hosted by Meeghan @Meeghan Reads!
This weeks topic is New Authors! So I’m going to list 5 New-to-me Authors that I found this year! So while making this list I realized that there are actually a lot of new-to-me authors that I read from this year! Which is good, but that made making this list very hard.. I now have a list of 10 authors that really stood out to me!

- Sabaa Tahir – How could she not be on here.. I’m a huge fan of her An Ember in the Ashes series, and cannot wait for the last book to release soon!
- Riley Sager – So far I’ve only read his Lock Every Door, but I loved it so much! I need to read more of his works!
- Mark Lawrence – Only read his Red Sister series, but that was so good, and I’m very excited to read more of his works!
- Daphne DuMaurier – This is really a surprising one to be on this list! Since Rebecca is quite outside of my normal reading taste, but I loved it!
- Christina Henry – I was a bit dubious about putting her on this list since I loved The Girl in Red, but was not a big fan of Alice. But I’m still very excited to try more of her work!
- Ruth Ware – Only read The Turn of the Key, but it took me by surprise and I’m excited to read more!
- SA Chakraborty – I fell in love with her The City of Brass! I need to read the conclusion soon!
- James Tynion IV – I read `Something is Killing the Children vol. 1` and `The Woods vol. 1`, and absolutely loved both! Really need to continue with both series!
- Robert Jordan – I mean it is no secret that I absolutely love what I’ve read of The Wheel of Time so far!
- Silvia Garcia-Moreno – I absolutely fell in love with Gods of Jade and Shadow and Mexican Gothic! I need to read some of her backlist!

Great list! I think one of my next reads will be a Sabaa Tahir book. So I can catch up with the rest of the reading world once the last book comes out. The Girl in Red looks good too.
Sabaa Tahir is amazing! I hope you will lpve her books!
It was really good!
So many fantastic authors on this list, Evelyn!!!
Thanks 🙂
Yes to Sabaa!!!! There are so many others on your list that I have on my TBR though *hides in shame*.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that I had read 29 new-to-me authors this year though!!
Same for me! I thought I would just list them all, but then the list became so long! Which is a good thing I guess!
Oh, I’ve been wanting to read Rebecca. Something is Killing the Children looks good, too. Thanks for sharing your top picks.
