About the meme:
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish, but is now moved to That Artsy Reader Girl! The read more about this meme, look at this page!
This week’s meme is Books I’ve added to my TBR and I’ve forgotten why! For this I will look into my GoodReads ‘Want to read’ shelf! I think I order it on date added, and look at the ones I added the longest ago first, should be fun haah
Here they are:

- The giver by Lois Lowry – I honestly don’t even know what genre this is!?
- Across the void by SK Vaughn – Well I probably added it because of the cover, I mean it looks amazing!
- War girls by Tochi Onyebuchi – I mean problem a strong female lead fantasy, which I generally love, but I don’t know anything about this one!
- The last astronaut by David Wellington – Sci-fi?! That would be an easy guess though!

5. Whispers of shadow and flame by L Penelope – I’m pretty sure this was not on purpose hahah, since this is book two, and I’ve also never heard of book one? (just removed this..)
6. The Aeronaut’s Windless by Jim Butcher – I know he is the author of the Dresden files, which I’m not interested in, so I don’t know why I added this?!
7. Coda vol. 1 by Simon Spurrier – I guess someone recommended it, but I don’t know who or why ahah

8. A time of dread by John Gwynne – Nope, nothing..
9. Mage’s Blood by David Hair – Another one that probably someone recommended but I don’t remember who or why
10. The age of witches by Louisa Morgan – Again nothing haha
I feel like so many books I just saw on someone’s blog for some reason and it sounded nice, and I added it. And then totally forgot about it?! For so many books (that I did not put on here) I was thinking ‘Oh saw that on some blog’, without knowing anything about it anymore. Actually for so many I came up with some kind of reason ‘oh I like the author’ ‘probably some good adult fantasy’. Guess I didn’t want to give myself reasons to remove books from my TBR :p
I am terrible at adding books to my tbr and completely forgetting about them afterwards. I remember adding the Giver at one point and I don’t know where I got the idea from cause I knew I’d never read it.
Haha I notice many people do haha!
War Girls looks like a good book. Nice list.
Here is my TTT.

It does!
Ha ha, I absolutely relate to seeing books on my TBR and having no clue why they’re there. I just reminded myself about The Last Astronaut earlier today — I’ve had a copy for almost a year now. The Giver is amazing, and I really liked The Aeronaut’s Windlass too. I hope you enjoy the ones that you end up reading!
They do sound very good, now that I’m reminded of them haah!
This is such a good idea for a prompt, I could easily find at least 10 on my list that I don’t even remember adding. With a quick glance I found one, My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante. It is not something I am normally into. I feel like I was watching or reading a review and I trusted the person and just added it.

Yeah making a 10 book list wasn’t hard at all haha!
I had the same issue with Giver. Couldn’t remember why, so I took it off like a year ago. Felt freeing!
A lot of books I probably added because I saw a good review of it from someone I know, or it was a recommendation. The problem is I’ve added so many that it’s hard to keep all the reasons and memories straight anymore 🙂
Exactly!
I don’t even know, I add so many books it’s hard to keep count of where you see them at lol! I just picked up the first book in that series by L. Penelope though, hope to get to it soon. 🙂
Oh I’m curious to what you will think of it!
I’m pretty sure The Giver is a fairly popular dystopian novel although I’ve only ever seen the film it’s probably on my TBR somewhere too though. And I think Age Of Witches only came out a couple of months back so I’d imagine you’re right about seeing it on someone’s blog (or I’m thinking of the wrong book by the author as I have three by her on my TBR ). I dread to think how many ‘why did I add that’ books are on mine.
After all these comments, I really want to read it!
Ooh maybe I will see it around more soon!
I feel you on that haha, there was probably a good reason!
The Giver is so good! I hope you get to read it soon. 🙂
I really want to try it now!
The Giver is a dystopian/utopian futuristic sort of novel. But the science fiction elements are pretty light.
I personally loved it and thought it had a lot of good things to say. 🙂
My TTT .
I’m really getting curious to the giver now, with all these comments haha!
The Giver is dystopian, and it’s soooo good! It’s actually a series of books (which I didn’t know until a couple years ago), but it can be a standalone. A Time of Dread was really good! Assuming you like high fantasy with a focus on war and maneuvers and one-upmanship, of course. I definitely feel like I do that whole “see something on somebody’s blog and add it to the TBR just because” thing, too. xD
The giver is also pretty short I think, so maybe I should just give it a try!
I do! Sounds good, have to move it up on my TBR!
I had to read The Giver in middle school. Its good but I wouldn’t want to read it now haha
Hahah, interesting!
I think I read The Giver in high school…that was quite a few years ago though so I’m sure if I picked it up again it would read as a brand new book to me, haha.
Haha I feel you on that with some books!
Great list! The Age of Witches is one I’m hoping to get to soon, and I’ve heard good things about John Gwynne’s work.
It actually sounds pretty good!
