About the meme:
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish, but is now moved to That Artsy Reader Girl! The read more about this meme, look at this page!
This week’s meme is favourite books of 2020, but I’m doing a separate post for that (coming in 2 days), so I decided to change the topic to books that just did not make it to my favourites! I mainly did this so I could talk about even more books haha., and aso because I know my favourite list is going to be solely fantasy, and I wanted to list some other genres as well (yes I know this list is still mainly fantasy..)! I tried to put this in some kind of order, number 10 came the closest to making my favourite list!
- Crier’s War by Nina Varela (4.5 stars) – I was so surprised with how much I enjoyed this book!
- Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo (4.5 stars) – She did it again, wrote another amazing book, that I could not stop listening too!
- The Good Girls by Claire Eliza Bartlett (4.5 stars) – YA mystery keeps surprising me! By how much I like it haha!

4. Elantris by Brandon Sanderson (4.5 stars) – I’m so happy I finally read this! Not my favourite Sanderson, but I obviously still really loved this!
5. The Girl in Red by Christina Henry (4.5 stars) – This book made me realize I actually quite enjoy reading horror!
6. Wicked Saints by Emily A Duncan (5 stars) – This book was so good, I just could not put it down! Unfortunately I did not enjoy the sequel as much (still good), so I that stayed in the back of my mind while making this list!
7. The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren (5 stars) – I’ve made it no secret that I really loved reading this book this year! I caught me by surprise how much I enjoyed this, so it could not miss from this list!

8. Heart of Flames by Nicki Pau Preto (5 stars) – This series is amazing, I cannot recommend it enough, it is just not as good as some other books I read this year!
9. The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware (5 stars) – This year I also realized I really enjoy mystery/thriller, and this book was part of that! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time while reading this, could not put it down, I just needed to know what was happening!
10. The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb (book 1: 4.5 stars; book 2&3: 5 stars) – I was doubting between this one and another book to put on my favourite list! Obviously I choose the other, but this series is so good, I absolutely fell in love with Robin Hobb this year!

Damn making these lists is so hard!
Haha, I put 20 books on my favorites list because I needed to include my “almost” favorites. Happy 2021!
HAha, they are our lists right, can make them as long as we want :p
Love that you made an honorable mentions list! Also I’m reminded that I need to read Heart of Flames. 🙂
It was too hard to choose just 10 favourites ahha! Although 20 was still hard!
You do! I love that series!
Clap When You Land was SO GOOD. And Wicked Saints is on my TBR, so glad to hear it’s a good one! Great list 🙂
I hope you will like Wicked Saints!
I also put Wicked Saints on my TTT!! I absolutely loved it. I cannot wait for the final book to come out and see where the heck this story goes I will have to check out the other books that you have listed here!
Great TTT! Happy reading!
Yeah I’m also quite curious to the conclusion!
What a great list of books! The Turn of the Key is still waiting patiently on my TBR pile, and I should really get around to it soon. I’ve never read a Ruth Ware novel before and that seems … not right.
I hope you will like it!
Love seeing Elantris on this list. It’s definitely not his best work, but for a debut novel it’s incredible and a clear example of Sanderson’s ability to create an intricate magic system.
It is! I´m so surprised by his world building, for all his series!
Great list! I read Robin Hobb for the first time this year, too, and I’m looking forward to reading more from her in future.
I hope we both do! Her work is so good!
Even if The Unhoneymooners only made your almost favorite list, I’m happy it did. It’s such a fun read!
It was! It just had some good competition haha!
Haha, this is such a smart way to extend your favorites list! Mine also always ends up being way too long, but I don’t care – I’m just going to put all the books I absolutely loved on there anyway xD So if you’re interested, you’ll see which books made it in a couple of days 😉
Haha I felt s bit as if I was cheating
But indeed is our list so we can make it as long as we want!!
My actual list is coming in two days! Looking forward to yours!
I’ve only read Heart of Flames from this list!
I hope you liked it!
I loved The Good Girls and Wicked Saints!
Good to hear 🙂
I really want to read more Elizabeth Acevedo. I’m loving Poet X.
Ooh all her work is amazing! Very curious to what she will release next!
I really need to read Crier’s War, it sounds so good!
Gemina, Serpent & Dove and Spin the Dawn are some books I really enjoyed but didn’t quite make my top books of 2020.
Yes it was!
I love Gemina as well! Still need to read Spin the Dawn as well!
I’ve been curious about The Turn of the Key because I know it’s based on the same book The Haunting of Bly Manor is, and I LOVED Bly Manor. I know Ruth Ware’s version won’t be the same, but I’m intrigued nonetheless
I hope you will like it!
I really need to read Clap When You Land sometime!
My post.
You do! It is good!
Elantris is a great book, happy to see it on your list. Happy reading! https://readwithstefani.com/top-10-books-of-2020/
It is!
Robin Hobb! I’ve read Hobb’s other series — The Mad Ship one, and loved it. But this year I’ve struggled to read anything other than standalones. Happy to see Hobb on this list, though. 🙂
Happy TTT and Happy 2021 in advance!
~My Top 10 Tuesday Post @Lexlingua
Yeah the liveship traders trilogy made it to my actual favourites!
